I’m so glad this was in the Plus catalog! Junior high level story, unrealistic characters.

It’s been a long time since I was genuinely surprised by a plot twist! Good story, good reader, definitely a credit well spent.

Torture, sick minds, and heroes. It's like a combination of SVU, Stephen King, and a good horror movie

....she calls it her "doo-dah." Please. The characters are in their late twenties, not diapers.

The Rock Chick books are entertaining and fun, but I get annoyed by the damsel-in-distress idiocy of the main characters. Jules is a bad-ass, smart, and fun. She has the same relationship hang ups as the other Rock Chick heroines, but her man is the same tenacious, testosterone-y, manly man as the rest of the Rock Chick guys, and you know how that turns out. This is my favorite book in the series so far.

The first time I listened, I liked the reader, but not the story. Listened again because I lost everything else on my device on a trip, and appreciated the humor much more. If you can divorce yourself from the seriousness of the topic, you'll laugh...maybe even snort! The show "Dexter" is the same genre - if you like that, you'll like this.

The book is read well, but the format is better suited to a "waiting room" or "bathroom" book - where you're only reading snipets at a time. It's funny, and the reader's voices are great, but one-liners don't make for a great listen.

My daughter recommended this book to me - and I LOVE it. The story is the perfect mix of plausible and what we wish for, the characters are real and likeable, and the author's use of humor to cope with sadness makes this a favorite! The reader has a great delivery (though my daughter disagreed - she read the print version and "heard" something else in her head). Listen or read - it's a fantastic book!
