Publisher's summary

Juliet Lawler has got a score to settle against the drug dealers of Denver. Vance Crowe has made it his mission that Jules won’t get dead while dishing out vigilante justice. Jules doesn’t have time for romance; she’s too busy saving the world. She enlists Zip (the gunstore owner), Heavy (an ex-PI) and Frank (a mysterious recluse) to help. The Rock Chicks get involved to provide advice and guidance. The Hot Bunch adopt Jules as one of their own. Even though Jules tries to hang onto her inner Head-Crackin’ Mamma Jamma, the Rock Chicks, Hot Bunch, Jules’s long-suffering Uncle Nick and Jules’s friend, the rotund, African-American, Jackie-O wannabe, May, will stop at nothing to wear her down. But Jules makes some bad guys pretty angry, and one will stop at nothing to take her out.

4.5 Stars

Rock Chick Renegade is about Vance and Jules but we still get a good dose of all of our other favorite characters from the prior books. We also meet some new characters such as Jules' uncle, Nick, her co-worker May, some kids she takes care of at the shelter, especially 2 of her favorites, Roam and Sniff, and we even see some of Eddie's little brother, Hector.

I really loved most of this book. My favorite was toward the end when it went to multiple side characters' POVs. I absolutely adore the family that they have all created within their group of friends.

Audible: I added the whispersync audible narration to this kindle book. The narrator did a good job. I recommend this as an audiobook.

Loved it

The series just keeps getting better and better. Vance and Jules (Law) are great. Vance was so much more then I expected before listening. Susannah Jones did an amazing job. It was really easy to get into listening to the book with her narration.
Def will continue with the series as Kristen Ashley can do no wrong so I’m sure they will all be great

While I did get tired of hearing about her happy pug. It is a great story and you should definitely spend the time and money to listen to this story

Another Fabulous Rock Chick Book

Juliet is one of my favorite heroine! She doesn't take any crap and has a fierce demeanor. She's not afraid to take on anyone. She's compassionate about her less fortunate kids and a big momma bear through and through!
I love Alpha Male characters & Sassy, Strong Women characters, and this book had Both in spades! It also has comedy which is always a plus. It was none stop action packed with plenty of comic relief. The love story was written fabulously not to much and not to little.

Finally, a Rock Chick that kicks ass!

Any additional comments?

The Rock Chick books are entertaining and fun, but I get annoyed by the damsel-in-distress idiocy of the main characters. Jules is a bad-ass, smart, and fun. She has the same relationship hang ups as the other Rock Chick heroines, but her man is the same tenacious, testosterone-y, manly man as the rest of the Rock Chick guys, and you know how that turns out. This is my favorite book in the series so far.

Gotta love KA!

I just love the narrator for this series. Each book is just awesome, especially this one. I fell in love with Vance when I first read the book. Listening to it made me fall all over again!

Missed the star

It missed the 5 stars because of what happens at end. I needed more. I wished there was an epilogue

Entertaining!

I don't know if you see it as a good thing or a bad thing that I can just point to previous book reviews to explain how I feel about the current book. It's pretty much the same formula as book one and on, just a different couple. I think it's a good thing. When I like something, I want more of it.

Our side characters are growing with each book as well as the rock chic group and that just adds to the entertainment value to the story. My only complaint is the heroines are constantly trying to break up with the heroes in these books. I like that the heroes just don't listen and bulldoze right over them because honestly, the reasons for wanting to break up are ridiculous, which I get the feeling is the point. I love a good resisting heroine but a little bit goes a long way.

I wasn't too happy with Luke getting involved in the Jules/Vance bubble, but circumstances didn't make it too big of a deal in this book. However, it might make it a big deal for me in Luke's book. I like my couples focused only on each other. On to the next book...

I’m still loving the narrator. She’s doing a fantastic job of bringing these books to life.

5 Renegade Stars

This is great addition to this series to be for sure. Who isn’t entranced by Vance? He hasn’t had an easy life but things got a lot better when he started working for Lee.

Jules is her own brand of crazy, but you gotta love the girl. She sure brings out some spice; nothing is boring with this girl.

Jules has had a hard life, losing her family. After a prolonged hospital stay herself, then she goes to live with her Aunt Reba and Nick. But then Reba passes suddenly. It messed with her. She protects herself by building a wall. And has an emotional Rottweiler so no one can hurt her again.

‘I was kind of flipping out. This was normal stuff that normal girls do. I’d never been normal. I’d always been kind of a freak.’ – Jules

So now that she works with runaways and kids on the streets, and when she loses one of her kids to drugs. She kind of went vigilant. She has been messing with the drug dealers and kind of got herself on Sal big drug guys radar.

Enter Vance, who also got an eye for Jules. Or The Law as her kids call her. He is not going to back down, oh now he doesn’t; he sees what he wants like all the boys do. He gets under her defenses. Vance’s breaks down the wall and turns her emotional Rottweiler into a cuddle squirmy pug puppy. Also I love that he calls her Princess. Swooon!!

‘Nick used to look at Auntie Reba that way.
Like she was breath.
Like she was necessity.
Like she was life.
That was the way Vance was looking at me.’ - Jules

Funny how she has a dog as an emotional barrio but she has the coolest cat Boo, who I just love. I guess because I am a cat person and have 4 of the fur babies I get the cat talking and talking back to them. Cause I sooo do that… Haha.

Also got to love the girl posse!! We get all the girls again in this book I think that’s one of the things I like about a Kristen Ashley book, you never feel like you’re missing older characters because they play a role in all the books.

And I know I say this with every book but Susannah Jones kills it with these book, her voices are awesome. I can tell who’s talking just by her voice how cool is that! She really gave each character their own voice. She is one of my most favorite narrators for sure.
