Not my favorite part of the series

Be ready for all the pieces to come together. It's never what you think or want. I almost did not finish this series. Now I am so invested in this story. I have read ACOTAR and CC. I am glad to read this one finally and see so many different similarities. Different names. Same evil. I think Aelin and her secret plans worked perfectly. Of the end sucks but HOPE.

Romance author Riley Cooper always dreamed of living by the water. But within a day of landing in the charming seaside town of Port Stewart to work on her latest book, she's getting calls and texts for some dude on her new number. Weird ones. Sad ones. Sexy ones. Ones that make her want to meet him. For curiosity's sake...if nothing else.

Love the new book in this series. It takes me back to the Mageri Series with the plot. Wondering if certain characters will be part of the new series moving forward. Seems like it's impossible to get rid of the ancients that want to control everyone.

Loren Calla has only ever been ordinary. As a human struggling to survive in a city that caters to the needs of vampires, werewolves, witches, and other supernatural creatures, she always assumed her life would remain simple, predictable, and as safe as her world would allow. Until she barely escapes abduction at the hands of Darkslayers—supernatural bounty hunters that possess the Sight, a magical tracking ability that allows them to see a person's aura—and one of her friends is taken in her place. The abductors are demanding a ransom: Loren's life in exchange for her friend's safe return.

Narration has to be sped up to tolerate it
Reviewed: 11-17-24
I have been anticipating listening to this book but it took a few days to actually get it at a speed that I could tolerate. I like the story line but the narration is not good. This story may be better to read than to listen to.
Dissapointed.

I love the immortal guardian series. I am glad that Cliff's story was finally told. The retelling was kind of annoying. Something was missing with the romance as well. Still a 4 out 5 and the narration was good.

First I would like to say that Nicole Poole is a wonderful narrator. She makes it enjoyable to listen. Dannika Dark does not let you down with this story. If you are new to her writing I suggest you start your journey with the Mageri series and then the Seven series. I was a fan after reading Sterling. Five stars Overall.

My duty to my family is simple. Help maintain order and uphold the law for my werecat father, Hasan, a member of the Tribunal. But I’ve always had a defiant streak.
