As compared with the others in the series

Something changed in this book,(possible spoiler ahead).
!!!!!!!!Semi spoiler Alert!!!!!!!!
Couple things bothered me, because they weren't like the first few books a all.
1) So for some reason this book "gods damn" as everyone's emphasis words no matter the situation which was kind of annoying.
2) Everyone is having sex, this book has several very descriptive sex scenes... sure people messed around before and the second book I believe had some . But this book is ridiculous.

Overall I'd probably give it 3 1/2 stars, but since I can't , I'll give it 4, since these are basically my problems. Lol Just seems like a YA book, but this is not. Glad I read it before my daughter .

Every book gets better!

I absolutely adore the series. Every book keeps getting better and better with more twists and turns and surprises. this Series has easily become my favorite series and I have listened to all of the books over and over again. Yet Sarah J Maas has done it once again with Empire of Storms. Absolutely wonderful, addicting and incredible, made that much better by the narrator. I am not one to right review that give any spoilers however in the words of Celaena Sardothien "What the rutting hell!" I can't believe I have to wait til 2017 for the conclusion of this series!

Not the last book

Another great read, fast paced, I think they only sleep for about 2 hours in this one. Good tension, more questions answered, and leaves us on a cliffhanger !!

Why the sex scenes? 🤮

The story would have been so much better had the sex scenes not even existed. I had to skip over them, just pointless. They served no purpose, and made the whole thing feel trashy. Not sure why the author went this way, when the others were fairly tasteful. Although the “romance” through the whole series has been by FAR the worst part about it. Very poorly written.

Agony and Pleasure served side by side...

I freaking love this series!

Let me start by saying, I listen to the audible version so forgive if the spelling of character names are off :-)

Of course we have the Queen of Fire as our main character, however, i have become so invested in our secondary characters. Molun's story with the witches and her 13 was great. My jaw actually dropped with the big revelation about her heritage. The crush between her and Dorian gets a chance to spout into "more". We can feel her trying to decide if she should break away or hold on to what she has been taught to believe.

Illead is still on her journey to find Aelin. She has an unexpected traveling companion in Lorkin. Their story line was done well. But I was truly pissed in the end. It may sound heartless, but she isn't worth what Aelin gives up to save her.

And now let's speak of the tragic ending. I was literally in tears. I cried. For who haven't read the book I won't spoil it. But now I look at boxes in a different light. Thinking of it now makes my heart drop. I refused to count for two days. I went on a counting strike. :-) In all Ms Maas has stunned me. I was upset and angry and sad and something close to agony. Which is probably why I will pre-order the next book the second it is available

Lots going on

Wow, I made it through! This was a long book, although it did have a lot going on. I liked that we got so many points of view, it helped break up the story and helped me get to know the characters since there are so many. I love Aelin and Rowan together, I think their love is so sweet and they fit perfectly. I also enjoyed seeing some other relationships begin and I hope they work out in the last two books. Seeing characters come together after having their separate storylines was cool, especially Manon and Aelin. Both strong women and queens, the power struggle was interesting.
I do think it could have been shorter and the length of the last books makes me hesitate. If not for the audiobook, I probably wouldn't have made it. The narrator did a fantastic job with the different characters and scenes. Highly recommend listening.
