Enjoyable listen. Nice to get insight on Kaleb. I think there may be a little more to him than meets the eye, he really seemed into the bit about philosophy……. Seems like a decent guy who is trying to do some good in the world whilst doing what he loves.

Disjointed, disappointing end to interesting series
Reviewed: 03-06-24
It was hard to follow. Characters didn’t get much individual resolution or clarity. I suppose that is the point - but it was a bit of a slap in the face to finish a 3 book series with the conclusion that is more or less “whatever” or “the world is gray and frustrating”. I coulda told you that before I started……

Story
As the son of Hades, Nico di Angelo has been through so much, from the premature deaths of his mother and sister, to being outed against his will, to losing his friend Jason during the trials of Apollo. But there is a ray of sunshine in his life—literally: his boyfriend, Will Solace, the son of Apollo. Together the two demigods can overcome any obstacle or foe. At least, that's been the case so far . . . Now Nico is being plagued by a voice calling out to him from Tartarus, the lowest part of the Underworld.

The destination was better than the journey
Reviewed: 02-20-24
Narration was flat, not as dynamic as past readers of Riordan books. As a whole, I liked the story, its intentions and where it ended up. That being said, it wandered a lot and perhaps focused a bit too much on being a love story more than an adventure story. The story added depth to Nico but seemed to take it away from Will…. Not bad, but I’d say the weakest of the Percy Jackson universe by a good amount….

3 friends who made good in the world
Reviewed: 12-31-23
This book was thoroughly enjoyable. Geddy reads a bit like he is reading a kids book, BUT his reading voice is awesome…. The story is essential listening for any Rush fan, but there is a lot here for everyone. This is a heartwarming tale of 3 friends making it big by being themselves. It is a wonderful testament to the power of friendship and family. There are a few truly heart-wrenching parts, but they only serve to bolster the humanity of it all….

Enjoyable characters, the whole series was a fun listening journey. There is no mistaking it for serious literature of any sort - it is sort of like the pizza or hamburgers of audible….(and most of us prefer pizza or burgers much more often than lobster…) 😊
