This is a great sequel. During the same timeline as book 1 but from Kate's side. I love zombie books but I don't want all the cussing and sequel stuff so this was perfect for me. And to have the main characters lean on God for help was perfection! I cannot wait for book 3.

Story
In 2007, the Center for Automation in Nanobiotech (CAN) outlined the hardware and software platforms that would one day allow robots smaller than human cells to make medical diagnoses, conduct repairs, and even self-propagate. In the same year, the CBS network re-aired a program about the effects of propranolol on sufferers of extreme trauma. A simple pill, it had been discovered, could wipe out the memory of any traumatic event. At almost the same moment in humanity’s broad history, mankind discovered the means for bringing about its utter downfall. And the ability to forget it ever happened.

Shon was studying abroad when she thought God told her to return home. Without hesitation, she packed up and caught the next flight back to the States. The moment her plane touched down, bombs went off across the US. She didn't know if this was the start of World War III or the end of the world. Surely, God hadn't called her home for this...? The bombs destroyed almost everything. And whatever was left withered away in the radiation left behind, forcing survivors to live indoors or underground.

When the zombie apocalypse hits the quiet Asheville, NC, subdivision of Whispering Pines, the residents don't turn to the police or the military. Nope. They rely on their iron-fisted Home Owners Association! Which Jace Stanford and his family aren’t too keen on. Undead hordes are hard enough to deal with in a post-apocalyptic hellscape, who needs HOA fines too?

Story
The drought - or the Tap-Out, as everyone calls it - has been going on for a while now. Everyone’s lives have become an endless list of don’ts: don’t water the lawn, don’t fill up your pool, don’t take long showers. Until the taps run dry. Suddenly, Alyssa’s quiet suburban street spirals into a warzone of desperation; neighbors and families turned against each other on the hunt for water. And when her parents don’t return and her life - and the life of her brother - is threatened, Alyssa has to make impossible choices if she’s going to survive.

What would you do if all the water you drink was suddenly no longer available? This is a YA book but I really enjoyed it and the narrators were great. Definitely worth the purchase.
