Has anyone ever given you a phone number with this inflection: 8888-888? That’s the narration of this entire book. Painful to get through.

I’ve heard bad narrators but this was the worst. I tried to ignore it and focus on the story but it got so annoying. I could have gotten through this book in a day but I had to put it down occasionally because I was irritated. Lake “samamich”. Good lord

I read reviews about this being a book about bragging about her accomplishments. Good thing I got the book anyway. First of all, Jeannine is unabashed about anything she speaks of so it is in line with her personality. I expected nothing less. She is an accomplished woman who had to work harder than her peers to be respected at a basic level. So if her personality and her accomplishments is the basis of a review OF THE BOOK, you shouldn’t be reviewing. As far as the content, it was very insightful. There were many questions I had about this case (the origins, the rumors, the original case) that were answered. Following these trials, I always wondered why she was made to be the focal point of Durst’s defense. Even before reading the book, it didn’t make sense. Did she really make this about her and her ambitions? At first, it did come across as someone who wanted the exposure for her ego but after reading this book, it made more sense that by thrusting herself into the spotlight would be more beneficial for Durst than it was for her. The spotlight was counter productive to what she wanted to accomplish, did her no favors for her reputation and undid all her hard work to be taken seriously. Say what you want about her, but one thing we can all agree on is that she’s not stupid. Her perspective about the case, the jinx…and where it all started was the needed chapter to this saga. Her tenacity for justice is what started the ball rolling on a case of a missing woman that was never seen as important enough to thoroughly investigate which was the initial travesty of justice. I would like to hear her perspective on the LA trial (probably the best trial I have ever seen, the Jodi Arias trial being a close second) that ultimately got Durst convicted. Another book perhaps? I highly recommend this book for anyone who has followed this case. Beyond the bravado, the Chanel purses and the Manolo Blahnik’s is an intelligent, experienced woman who is committed to justice for victims of domestic abuse (and murder) and their families. And that is what this book is about.

I enjoyed the actual assessment book (1976) from Dr. Carlisle. However, in chapter forty-four of this book, he has Ted referencing Jeffrey Dahmer which is impossible since Bundy was executed in 1989 and Dahmer was arrested in 1991. Made me question the validity of other statements purportedly made by Bundy in this book.

if you were/are a rocker who came of age in the 80s and 90s, listening to Motley Crue, Van Halen, GNR, Metallica etc....THIS IS A MUST READ!

i was never a huge of Skid Row but after this...yeah still not a fan but Sebastian Bach is one hell of a storyteller. i know!! i was so surprised too! He is HILARIOUS! 🙌🏻

His impersonations of Gene Simmons, Lemmy, Axl Rose, David Lee Roth...even Ian Astbury (i was and still am a huge The Cult fan) made me legit laugh out loud. I just hope there’s another book in the future because it was probably the most entertaining audio book i’ve read and i’ve read many.

He tells his story so honestly and he puts it all out there, the good and the bad. Wow...i’m so sad it ended!! It would definitely not have been the same had someone else narrated. So so good.

wow! i’m so surprised at how good this was! i read both books back to back and i think this one is even funnier.

hey Bobbie, i grew up in the motley, warrant era and though i wasn’t a fan of either, i knew of you. You may have been the cherry pie girl for the last few decades, but i’m a fan because you are a fucking warrior. I hope to catch your stand up one day.

“mams” made me LOL.

Honest, funny, self deprecating, sweet, fiery...it’s all good. Highly recommend.

this turned out to be a pretentious, melodramatic, harlequin-novel cringe tale...straight out of a J. Peterman catalogue.

the drippy, cliché writing was the worst part. Such drivel. when i wasn’t cringing, i was rolling my eyes. It was like reading a teen girl’s journal. Couldn’t wait for it to be over. BRU-TAL.

He came across as a pretentious, disingenuous jerk who isn’t as intelligent as he thinks he is. ugh reminds me of being single on the dating scene....ouff

i gave two stars instead of one because of his bangin job in The Doors. i felt bad.

i wish i hadn’t read it, frankly.
