Awesome as always.

Drew Hayes is always superb. The narrator is excellent, with clearly defined voices per role - and is also thankfully the same narrator as the main series.

Pure fun.
Swap Deadpool's powers to being able to stop time and go back to a set point upon death and you've got the main character, also named Ryan. Don't take this as a cheap knockoff or a bad thing. It works damn well.

Solid narration all the way through.
The story was fine, just expect something fun and go with it. Good for those times you're after an action flick.

weakest story so far, great narrator though.

There's not a lot going on that makes me excited for the story to continue. Things certainly happen, but I don't find breaking open a new node or finding a skill upgrade to be exciting or interesting content. He explores some things, hits some things, but there's no character development or interesting relationships between characters that make you care.

I genuinely enjoyed the Primal Hunter 2. It's a FUN book. Very little misery and doom n' gloom, unlike too many other LITRPG books. The main character is likable and makes good choices.

Enjoyable LITRPG
Reviewed: 03-25-22
Some LITRPGs are going down a dark and depressing path full of gore and nastyness. This one, while violent, didn't do anything that would disturb my sleep at night. It's a solid start to a tale, and my only complaint is that the continuation of the story (book 2) isn't out at this time. It doesn't leave on a cliffhanger, but rather what feels like the end of a chapter.
The narration was excellent.

Unlikeable characters, good narration
Reviewed: 02-04-22
I somewhat enjoyed book one as the story kept moving along in an interesting way. Unfortunately, I gave up partway through book two. I realized I genuinely disliked every single character in the story at that point (unlike in book one) and didn't want to spend any more time with them. I'm unsure how the author managed to make me actively dislike so many people to this degree.
Narration was great though!

The war should have been over. But it’s not for a group of nationalists grabbing for control. It’s been two weeks since a missile with a nuclear warhead tore through the planetary defenses in the most blistering large-scale attack ever committed in the history of the Gaia system. Commander Dunstan Park of the Rhodian navy has been handpicked to command an experimental cruiser that could dictate the course of the escalating conflict. All he has to do is keep the ship from falling into the wrong hands.

Great continuation of the story.
Reviewed: 10-06-21
As everyone has no doubt mentioned, the narrator was changed for the third time in this series, which no one is a fan of. As long as you can get over that it's a great book and the new narrator does a fine job. I'm thankful that I had a long gap between books so I could forget the former narrators cadence and come to this one with fresh ears and simply enjoy the excellent story.

Story
It is said by some that the Spellmonger’s exile to the Magelaw left Sevendor, the City of Magic, unprotected in his absence. That would be untrue, for though the mightiest mage of the era was forced by law and custom to refrain from visiting his realm in Castal, he left behind a significant body of learned and dedicated colleagues to continue his policies and see to the protection of the magelands. These were not all warmagi, nor even High Magi; indeed, the strength of Sevendor depended on magi of all types and descriptions.
