Excellent!

I had read the books a couple of years ago and loved them. This audio production was excellent as well! The narrator was great and brought the characters to life in a pleasing, easy to listen to manner. The books are so original and I found the characters fascinating; they are multi-dimensioned with internal conflicts with which they must deal. I fully enjoyed the experience of listening to these books and re-living the stories again!

Too long and boring

I thought the four book story could have been done in one or two books. l had real trouble staying interested, even with fast forwarding through many of the weird sex parts

The narration was excellent.

Really long

Far too many words for too little of a premise. Far too many and too descriptive gay alien, straight alien sex scenes. Added nothing to plot or storyline

Meh

The series starts out pretty well, but around the time the author starts talking about "sucking alien cxck" it started going downhill. By the end, I would have been happy if all the characters died. The ending is nonsense.

I liked the series, but I had a hard time dealing with the character’s gullibility

The overall story concept was good; the narration was great and the characters were likable (except for Hannah, I HATED Hannah with all of my being).

My issue is with how stupid and gullible the characters were, when it came to trusting others.

They would constantly make terrible decisions when it came to defending Earth. Not only that, they would be betrayed by the same characters over and over again.

Why would anyone trust someone after they repeatedly attempt to murder you? It doesn’t make any sense. I had to keep taking breaks, because it was annoying the heck out of me, but, other than that, the series was good.

"Salvation isn't earned."

The best way to read the four part series, Earth's Last Gambit, narrated by James Anderson Foster with understanding and emotional colouring. The author, Felix Savage, writes on a very approachable way, ladling out the science without becoming indigestible. some simple little touches also bring it very much to life, too, like the presence of flies annoying the crew of the space ship in book one.

Some unexpected moments and a whole swathe of disasters, betrayal and solid characterisations to complete this fascinating series. Highly recommended to all SF fans.

Great Story

This was a great story all around. I thought the plot was original, the characters were unique, and it was good journey. Be aware there are graphic scenes with violence, sex, and rape.

Cynical view of humanity

I struggled to finish the series as I kept thinking to myself that humans can't possibly be THAT stupid. I was able to finish though so there is that. I hate to admit it but as I look around and see the fighting, the woke culture, gender confusion etc., maybe the author does have a point.
The narrator was excellent.
Overall, I will say it was a more positive than negative experience. This was not my favorite series, but it did entertain.
