Story
Nadia Williams needs somewhere peaceful to sort through her grief after her mother is brutally murdered. She finds a cozy cabin at the side of a tranquil lake in the quaint town of Misted Pines in the Pacific Northwest. The minute she arrives, she knows it’s perfect. The very night of her arrival, however, someone—or something—is scratching at her window. The next morning, she meets her one and only neighbor, Doc Riggs. He’s a rough, good-time guy who rubs Nadia wrong immediately. They clash, and neither of them are happy to be sharing their lake.

Sadly, not worth your time
Reviewed: 10-14-24
Maybe the story was OK but the mail reader was so over the top that I can’t even get halfway through this book. He is so dramatic and end of the world and everything. He says you can’t follow the regular conversation and some of the language is just too vulgar. It’s not that I’m against that, it’s just gross. You’re trying to like these two as a couple but the way he thinks makes it icky. I had to stop listening.

Story
Sage Winters always knew her sister was a little different even though they were identical twins. They loved the same things and shared a deep understanding, but Rosemary—awake to every emotion, easily moved to joy or tears—seemed to need more protection from the world. Six years after Rosemary's death from pneumonia, Sage, now sixteen, still misses her deeply. Their mother perished in a car crash, and Sage's stepfather, Alan, resents being burdened by a responsibility he never wanted.

Phenomenal & Gut wrenching!

I couldn’t put this one down. I was obsessed and uncomfortable throughout most of it, but in a way that needs to be acknowledged. Wonderful storytelling about the truth of insane asylums of the past. I highly recommend this book. Gut wrenching part of how these institutions were run, but then the amazing murder mystery we into the storytelling was fabulous.

Story
Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

A decade ago, two vans filled with high school seniors on a school service trip crashed into a Tennessee ravine—a tragedy that claimed the lives of multiple classmates and teachers. The nine students who managed to escape the river that night were irrevocably changed. A year later, after one of the survivors dies by suicide on the anniversary of the crash, the rest of them make a pact: to come together each year to commemorate that terrible night.

Story
Tragedy had stripped Aurora of everything she once loved. But now she's back in Balsam Grove, ready to face all she's kept locked away for seven years. Or so she thinks. Aurora doesn't expect her first collision to be with the boy she left all those years ago. The boy who betrayed her trust with no regrets. The boy who is no longer a boy but a man with the same stormy eyes that swept her into his current before she ever learned to swim. She'd thought he was safe. He'd thought their path was mapped out. Turns out neither of them was ready for the crash at the bottom of the cascade.

Just OK for me…
Reviewed: 03-10-23
There were many times where the woman’s voice was way too loud, and then it would get so quiet. I couldn’t hear it so that got a little annoying. But the story was a little simple, not that I could write it, so kudos to the author, but I figured who the killer was from the beginning. That’s always a bummer for me. Overall a fun read, just a little predictable for me.

The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide… Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Wow! What an amazing, very true rendition of life inside the Crown. My heart goes out to Haz and Meg, and although you feel anger towards the other royals, you also feel sorrow for the life bestowed upon them. Kudos for H & M to get out and truly live. Prince Harry also does an incredible job not only narrating, but he has a true talent for writing. You are transported by every word and story. Here’s to an amazing future for Mag and Harry. You so deserve it. Love from an American/Canadian. 💕
