Publisher's summary

Nadia Williams needs somewhere peaceful to sort through her grief after her mother is brutally murdered. She finds a cozy cabin at the side of a tranquil lake in the quaint town of Misted Pines in the Pacific Northwest.

The minute she arrives, she knows it’s perfect.

The very night of her arrival, however, someone—or something—is scratching at her window.

The next morning, she meets her one and only neighbor, Doc Riggs. He’s a rough, good-time guy who rubs Nadia wrong immediately. They clash, and neither of them are happy to be sharing their lake.

But soon, Nadia learns the lore around her cabin and how the townsfolk are certain it’s haunted by the ghost of the man who was murdered there 15 years before.

Riggs and Nadia are suddenly thrown into a tangled web of history, betrayal, grief, secrets, with only one thing certain.

Someone—or something—wants them off that lake.

The programs of the RC Nation include Rock Chick Rendezvous, weekends Kristen organizes full of parties and get-togethers to bring the sisterhood together; Rock Chick Recharges, evenings Kristen arranges for women who have been nominated to receive a special night; and Rock Chick Rewards, an ongoing program that raises funds for nonprofit women’s organizations Kristen’s readers nominate. Well, her voice is nice

The male narrator sounded like a 1940s radio personality. ALL THE TIME. If i was you, I'd have it recast.

My favorite so far

I loved this book. I can admit that I listen to this series because KA wrote it, but I'm not a suspense reader. That being said, this book is my favorite of the series so far. I loved Riggs, Nadia, and Ledger! The storyline was great we get to see the relationship develop and all the couple has to go through while also figuring out a 15-year-old secret and murder.

Amazing

Incredible from start to finish. I’m literally about to start it again. Kristen Ashley is an incredible writer. Every book I’ve read that she’s written has been amazing and I literally cannot wait to read her next book!

A little confusing

This was a little to confusing for me once it got into the weeds of the back story I’m still not sure who did what but again, that’s probably me as I love Kristian’s books I am looking forward to reading the third book in the series and hope there’s just a few less characters. Male narrator could be better Stella is always excellent

The story

The narrator is over dramatic wich annoys me to no end. This really ruins my experience as I really love the author and the story.

All the twist and turns

All 3 books were exciting... and kept me on the edge of my seat. Can't wait till book 4.

Not the same

Itt started out good. It didn't take long for it to become just babbling on. I never could understand who everybody was. This happened in book 2 also even though I didn't rate it bad. There first book was very good and stayed on task. I don't know what happened.

Loved the story

I loved the story and the characters, but the male performance drove me nuts. It felt like every sentence had an explanation point and then covered it in a cheese whiz voice over. But will definitely listen to the upcoming books. I do love the series, though.

Terrible Male Narrator!!!

Loved the other two books in this series and was mildly disappointed in this book. The male narrator sounded like he was shouting & angry the majority of the time and a 1940s radio personality the rest. It wasn’t giving tough masculine northwest mountain man. The odd narration made it hard to follow the characters and get into the story line like I didn’t the other two. Coming off the intense story lines with the twist and turns throughout the story and perfect mix of action and great love scenes (book 2!!) this one seemed like a different story. I would have liked to see Nadia spend more time in the cabin. They moved into the domestic situation very early in this one. Wasn’t for me. Book 2 by far is my favorite. Story had a lot of interesting characters history and situations. The male lead and male narrator 👌🏻 couldn’t have been more perfect. I am giving this 4 stars because the series so far deserves 5 and it’s possible the male narrator ruined it. I look forward to seeing more in this series with a new male narrator of course.
