I loved this book! I’m looking forward to the 2nd in this duology. The twists were really good and unexpected. I felt so much sympathy for Theo. I can’t wait to read more.

The writing was pedantic. I thought the magic would make it better, but no. It was a tool. The last 5 minutes were decent.

I enjoyed this book! It was easy to listen to, I did not really like the younger narrator’s voice, she made even the sheriff sound like a 16 year old. I new the twist at the end, but that didn’t ruin my experience

This was almost a DNF for me, but it had a few glimmers of hope for it. I will not be picking up any of the sequels in this series.

I really enjoyed the prologue, the world building. But Fallon is a poorly written main character and the focus on her virginity is so unnecessary. The author pretends to be progressive but I don’t believe she is; more problematic. The narrators were the only reason I kept listening.

This was a DNF for me. I find the main character to be shallow and annoying. I find all the characters to be cliché and literal tropes. I do not mind cursing in my books, however I found it jarring in this book. I'm not saying I'm representative of everyone here, but listen to the bad reviews. I wish I had done that.

Here is my opinion, based on listening to the Renee Raudman version too many times to count:
The different voices are great! I love Curran's voice, Jim's, and even Kate's. There are a few like Mahon and Aunt B, their voices just don't match their description, but I can overlook those.
What I have a problem with is the background music. It's like they found the cheapest Open Source music and put it in the background. The sound effects didn't bother me very much. However, the music takes me out of the book so many times I can barely stay in it.
I've got all of the previous version's books with Renee, and I'm not sure I will buy the subsequent books. I hope they fix the music issues, because I would love to continue to collect them.

This has horrible narration. That would be bad enough but I find the main character’s attitude to be obnoxious. If they had found a different narrator for the other books I might have continued. Please quit casting American narrators in British books…from an American.

Brandon Sanderson already had a big spot in my heart for Finishing WoT, but Mistborn was what started my journey in the cosmere and I reread the entire series whenever a new book comes out.

I’m not sure how anyone could look past her pedantic prose. She sounded like a wannabe Buffy. There was nothing witty about her and the intellect was forced at best. When you have to tell the reader you are smart…do better!
