80% of book 1 was no stats and good. 20% of this book is good. not worth credit.
Reviewed: 02-05-25
author decides to pump up the time by rereading menus that take literally 5 min each to read. press the skip forward button 8 times whenever he opens soul menu and you miss nothing and land on the newer part he will actually care about.
author forgets he says shit and then just leaves plot points to dangle for more than a book.
again the author is good the story would be interesting if he had not went meandering so much ... this is a dnd campaign where the players all decide to be pirates and the dm had something else planned and just throws random encounter after random encounter at them.
not worth a credit.

Story
Try as he might, Fischer still can't catch a break. Tropica's forces have just perpetrated the fantasyland equivalent of crashing the king's party, kicking over the punch bowl, and making a series of rude gestures on their way out. Unfortunately, they're about to learn firsthand that when you take a bully down to the mat, it's best to make sure they don't get back up. Because their enemies are unearthing long-forgotten powers, and if those dabbling in the resulting destructive chi succeed, they could become even more annoying than the time Corporal Claws hid all of Fischer's pants.

Story
Fischer has everything he needs in life: blossoming friendships, a menagerie of cute animal companions, a waterfront property with easy access to fishing, and enough coffee to take out a small elephant or a really big dog. Unfortunately, Fischer can’t catch a break. Cosmic forces? Still throwing curveballs. The bigwigs in the capital? Starting to sniff around his business. Cults? Still culting. Plus, awakened beings are washing up on his shores like flotsam after a storm. And worst of all? His coffee guy ghosted him!

Story
When summoned to a fantastical world and granted powers by a broken System, most freshly minted protagonists would strap on their big-boy boots and get ready for their stats to start climbing. But Fischer isn't like most MCs. In fact, he doesn't want to be a hero at all. Fame? Fortune? Power? He had enough of all that in his old life. Discovering forbidden fishing techniques and petting every cute animal that comes within scritching distance? Now that's a good time.

I normally blind review 5 stars but this is the first book to deserve it in a while. this book was so wholesome and enjoyable start to finish. it changed my perspective and got me out of an emotional slump. It might be the first book I have ever just restarted immediately if there is no sequel. (haven't looked yet) everything was wonderful.

Adam Harris’s name has just appeared on a top secret list of extraterrestrial origin. Unbeknownst to him, he’s one of a handful of individuals capable of implementing a Save Point, a static moment in time he’s able to revisit over and over upon death. It’s a good thing, too. Brain cancer was turning into a real drag. The government owns the list though, and they’ve wasted no time snapping him up. According to them, he has 13 days in an alien realm to learn as much as he can before the inevitable.

Unpleasant MC - Human personification of a Chihuahua
Reviewed: 04-16-24
This author is either a master at making a character who is self deluded and woefully blind to social norms or is one of those people who say it was just a joke after saying something super inflammatory for no reason.
I will give it to them it is making me see thru the eyes of a human I would definitely cull from my life.
I have met these kind of people , people who think they are more clever than they are . seemingly miss obvious solutions to problems while lashing out at all around them and then not understanding when people react negatively to them.
this may be the most unlikable MC to a book I plan to finish.
I first thought ... o maybe he is so unlikeable to give room for much self improvement but as the hours tick down till the end of the book I don't see them making a complete personality change in 2 hours.
this is the human personification of a Chihuahua, just barking at everyone not realizing every other dog around them could end them in a whim and are better in every way while it self inflates with boastful arrogance with absolutely nothing to back it up with. The sheer blinders to the fact that everyone around you simply tolerates you due to their grace. No one likes you. You are a ---- human being. Cancer is too good for you. Victim mentality with a pinch of self deluded power fantasy... so strange.
I like the idea behind the story line and I picked it up thinking he was going to be an ESPer with time powers ... if that happens it has yet to ...
I hope in the last 2 hours he reverts back to the opening scene with pre knowledge and then becomes a better person in book 2 ... but damn he is so unlikeable that unless the ending is almost perfect I find it hard for me to want more of this. which is a shame because I think everything is written well . based on the other characters he can obviously write a non horrible character.
we shall see ... let's hope he finds out how to loop and reverts in time and when Doc asks if it's the first time they have met he just smiles coy and says the same line of "How could we have met before?" and grow as a character with each passing loop because he is a man child to begin with and if he evolves thru story it could be good ... but he is such a winny unlikeable noodle of a "man" I find it unlikely I will get the next book ... might look up spark notes tho to find out the end because the story is good the character is not.

just a quick aside so you know what you are getting into
elipses
..
.
in a boss fight on my lunch break the MC attacked once then the book talked about basically circular nothing for my entire lunch break while the fight was still going ... but NOTHING WAS HAPPENING it was like he decided he needed to add a half hr of content in the middle of a boss fight. at the end of my lunch break someone else hit the boss ... then more circular talking logic ... few min later someone else does something ...
THIS Book is a disrespectful use of your time.
and that sums up pretty much the entire series.
