"it's ok to be yourself" as long as who and what you are is the image of perfection devoid of any personality and adheres to strict conservative traditions.

the book spends far too much time on superficial matters without sufficient real world examples other than the most iconic people who ironically succeeded by not following her advice. referencing Oprah and Steve Jobs does not make up for it's shortcomings. her best references was with the For Dummies brand, common major chains like McDonald's, and others, but she missed out on the opportunity to really zero in on comprehensive branding strategies, and what happens when companies like Cadillac produce ugly budget vehicles that aren't congruent with their beautiful luxury brand.

The main step by step guides are the meat of the book. Specific resources, specific agendas, itemizing a things to do list to create a brand and audit it multiple times, and regularly as long as it is utilized.

the author will mention their own products and services but not push them on the reader. if you want to pay him to do things for you, he will be happy to accept your money, but empowers you to DIY solutions that work best for you. the biggest challenge a reader will encounter is incorporating 90 minute sleep cycles into their sleep routines. But it offers lots of practical advice for travelers, athletes, professionals, expecting parents, and others who struggle with sleep challenges. the book won't rant about insomnia, it is very solution oriented and the author is an advocate of the reader who wants the reader to not overspend on mattresses that over promise and under deliver

if you have experience as an investor, you can skip half the book and go straight to the 5 steps. I was worried it would have no substance to it, but it wasn't a bad introduction and I will refer back to it on occasion as needed.

I downgraded this from 5 to 3 stars due to there being no PDF with it. books like these should always have PDF companion material for all the supplementary references, links, charts, formulas, etc....

otherwise it's a great introduction, but it would benefit from a chapter on conflicts of interest. otherwise I'd recommend this to anyone starting out or for refresh.

I would make this a required text for highschool economic students and anyone who is daft about investing. The meat and potatoes of this isn't until after 10 hours, and many comments besides mind note what the most common themes are. stick to fundamentals, avoid fees, diversify according to age. etc. it affirms my bias of pushing a Vanguard Growth Fund for most common investors and retirement planning, but I would criticize it for no being comprehensive overall. this definitely takes to heart the importance of saying a lot about a little rather than say a little about a lot

this is not an end all be all source. This is tailored to the individual. For comprehensive understanding and ability to influence habits, I would recommend this book in conjunction with The Power Of Habit by Charles Duhigg which covers more institutional and cultural habits, as well as The Scientific Secrets of Self Control by the Great Course Lectures. All in all you will have about 20 hours of comprehensive research, examples, history, and strategies to leverage for your own objectives.

I was a bit timid about getting this book, and I still have yet to go through the companion workbook, however I was pleasantly surprised and realized the competency of the author when he referenced the Power of Habit and made a point to focus on filling in the gaps left by that book. I believe the three I referenced all compliment each other nicely, and the author did a great job. I will be keeping an eye out for more of his writings.
