It's too bad the author went political
Reviewed: 11-16-17
It's really too bad the author brought politics into the story. It was very subtle as first but by half way through the book, that's all it was. Until now, I've really liked these books.

Some siblings will do anything for each other including murder. These poor kids have been through so much. They each finally find their best fit only to be hit with tragedy again. It's sad. I missed Kimberly this time around.

What did you love best about Echoes in Death?
I love how well Eve and Roarke know each other. When the other needs to hold on tight and when subtlety is required. How they can count on each other no matter what.
What other book might you compare Echoes in Death to and why?
The entire series. Robb writes solid characters.
What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?
Since Ericksen has read the whole series, she is Eve, Roarke, Peabody and everyone else. Nobody else will do.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I cried at the last act Eve had to do before they could call it a day. It was as much for Daphne as it was for her but both needed equally.
Any additional comments?
Here I am finishing the book the day after it comes out....and so the wait begins for the next installment. I love how the whole team strive for the truth and for justice no matter what. Less then giving 150% is not tolerated.

What did you like best about The Sound of Rain? What did you like least?
Best-The twists and turns at the end
Worst-The author should study police procedure
Would you be willing to try another book from Gregg Olsen? Why or why not?
Probably not for the reason I listed as WORST part of the book
Do you think The Sound of Rain needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No
Any additional comments?
I stopped reading this book several times. The authors police investigation was bad writing and in no way believable. I strongly dislike giving a bad review. If you can overlook this part and get through it, the last 1/4 or so is pretty good.

The book was good but there was so much introspection from the main character. With each back and forth she had something to say to herself or an answer she wanted to say out loud by didn't. It became a bit annoying.

Not all secrets are bad but big ones involving the law are almost never a good idea. They can become all consuming and end up doing more harm. Sometimes you have someone to turn to and sometimes you don't. I'm looking forward to reading book 2.

As a parent you do your best to raise your child to be a good, functioning person....well most parents do anyway. When you don't, sometimes what comes around goes around.
On another note, sometimes love is enough. Couples don't always know what they want for their future, but when you open and honest, love can lead the way.

Sometimes righting the wrongs of your past includes murder. Peer pressure and fear are a bad combination and they are all too real. I can't imagine how many times something similar to this story has happened in real life. I also believe that living with guilt like this can cause cancer or other medical illnesses not just mental illnesses. Troy and his partners in crime all got what they deserved!!

Good read, good characters
Reviewed: 01-17-17
What made the experience of listening to Vanished the most enjoyable?
The characters are good. The author does a good job of putting their images in your mind. I'm looking forward to getting to know them.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Bingo, only known at this point as the dog who has no name and who does not yet belong to Mason, leads investigators to Hannah and they find her covered in dog hair from him protecting her and keeping her warm until help arrived. Good dog!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There are a few things. 1 is how much Jake cares about this little sister and his struggle with his emotions and the thought of how Jake will feel later in life since Hannah was taken because the bad guy couldn't get to him initially. 2 is the misery the bad guy has gone through for 20 years over the loss of his son and his teetering on the edge of sanity. And lastly how Mason has felt for taking the life of that kid even though it was unavoidable and how he will feel now for the rest of his that event triggered with the kidnapping of Hannah and Jake.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to getting to know these characters. I've read Kendra before and like how she tells a story.
