Great read!!

I really enjoyed the story! It had lots of little clues that you didn’t realize were clues and was written in a very fun way! I almost didn’t finish the first few chapters, because I did not care for the way it started. Though I’m glad I stuck with it because it turned out to be a really good story. I hope they continue with a second book with another mystery they find within the property, and with their love story. I was left wanting more!!! (In a good way)

It is nice to get an idea about what happens after the reality shows stop filming. I like the character growth throughout and it was sweet to listen to the love story from the different angles.
Now I have a sudden urge to watch the bachelor haha 😊
It is a nice, cute, sweet story about finding about yourself and love. Nothing steamy which is ok.
Very Hallmark material.
I would recommend.

Not my cup of tea
Reviewed: 01-30-23
It was an ok story. For me the story was very repetitive and dragged on, without much to keep your attention. There was one main (pretty much the only) conflict throughout the story.
Bit of a spoiler!
It wasn’t resolved until the last 30 minutes of the story. I was hoping for a bit more towards the end, but just kept listening out of curiosity.
I was mainly frustrated that a laird and war chief (who is supposed to be cunning), could not come up with any real ideas… for months! The sad thing is most everyone knew about the situation and could not come up with any to save her, until the very end.
Not worth it in my opinion, but I can see how it might intrigue others.
It wasn’t bad. I just didn’t particularly care for it.
As for the performance: it was a hard time to decider when she was switching characters(or from speech to thought). That my be due to the narrator and/or the writing style of the author.

Story
Like an avenging, purple-haired Jedi bringing balance to the mansplained universe, Bee Königswasser lives by a simple code: What would Marie Curie do? If NASA offered her the lead on a neuroengineering project—a literal dream come true after years scraping by on the crumbs of academia—Marie would accept without hesitation. Duh. But the mother of modern physics never had to co-lead with Levi Ward.

I don’t agree with the negative reviews I saw. I do agree it took a while to get on with the story, but I was enjoying it once it finally developed. Things were predictable in a good way. You felt hurt and loneliness and other feelings as the characters feel ,as they feel them. I love the amount of times cats were mentioned. It was a good enemies to lovers book. And I hope they continue it, perhaps with her sister.

Story
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

I picked this book on a whim and it sat in my library for a bit, because I tend to avoid the short stories.
I was pleasantly surprised once the story line started and I was engrossed in it.
I throughly enjoy most all things pride and prejudice & their spin offs. This was well done, and it has made me relook at the way mrs.Wickham is perceived. It also makes you look at yourself and how you judge others as well as yourself.
This is not a steamy book, but it is flirtatious and has witty batter. Which is very enjoyable, along with sweet moments.
I would recommend it.

This was a cute book, that could turn it to a rom com(I think). It was predictable, but in a nice way. I liked the cute date ideas and the stories surrounding them. I appreciate the authors notice to detail. The squirrel part towards the end, made me feel like I was there too, in the snow. Over all good. Nothing steamy really. Very pg romance. I liked it.

I liked it as a quick listen, it was cute. Nothing steamy here if you are looking for that. The only that bothered me personally is that she kept calling her mom Bernice, instead of mom. It thought that was a bit odd, but not bad.

Disappointed with this book-from Julie
Reviewed: 01-14-22
I usually like Julies books to listen to the back round, because it’s nothing really elaborate or exciting going on. But this book was cringe worthy from the start. I kept listening in hopes it would get better, but it just dragged on. Honestly the narrator ruined it for me too. When she said “father” it sounded kinda like a graphic movie, played by an under age girl and not a 20 something woman. The fact that she was a stranger to her father and then act as if they have not pasted a day without each other, also ruined the story for me. This is the weakest book I have read from Julie and will return it.

I really like this book\series. It has great characters, action, suspense,&description. I just did not like the overall ending of the last book, I understand part of the reasons why the author did what he did, but I am still not crazy about it. Part of me hopes for another book, just to see what happens afterwards. It was a very imaginative series, and I enjoyed it!

I am one to love escaping through books. Marissa Meyer did it fantastic job of creating this ultimate fantasy of the classic fairytales. She keeps to the original plot line of the fairytales, but twisted them in the way through her story of Cinder and her friends. I love the interview at the end of this book "Winter", between Marissa Meyer and the narrator. I too feel bitter bittersweet about the series ending, but she did a fantastic job overall. I can't wait to read future stories that are to come from Marissa.
