Story
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot. Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.

Ms McFaden you disturb me. What kind of evil genius comes up with this stuff? I found myself laughing out loud at times and furious at others. This is definitely a page turner. The flashbacks were perfect and the performance was stellar. I cannot wait to listen to her next novel.

Great story idea but the technology details were too melodramatic. The pace and flinging of technological terms reminded me of early Chrichton books. I'm bailing with 10 hours left because I cannot stomach the characters.

The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide… Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

I loved the book from start to finish. It is captivating and just what I have been looking for. The ending was especially satisfying. Imogen Church…omg she is amazing. She was so good I almost stopped the book after a few chapters in to give a 5 star review. I can’t wait to hear more of Ms Glass’s work and I will be looking for more books recited by.Ms Church.

Walk has never left the coastal California town where he and Star grew up. He may have become the chief of police, but he’s still trying to heal the old wound of having given the testimony that sent his best friend, Vincent King, to prison decades before. Super sad
Reviewed: 12-21-24
This is the saddest book I have read or listened to since I read Where the Red Fern Grows. As such, it will stay with me for a while. I also did not like the amount of profanity. The narrator has a pleasing voice but he didn't stop between scenes even when they were in different parts of the country. It confused me and many times I had to rewind to figure out the POV. I would say it is a really good novel and deserves a read. This one was just not my cup of tea.

Great until chapter when the sex kicked in
Reviewed: 11-29-24
Performance was good but I had to stop listening when the sex dialog became overwhelming. I really enjoyed the Faefever series and was looking forward to a new one by Ms Moning. Sadly, I just couldn't stomach chapter 3 and won't get into what is probably a good series. I will say Ms. Moning is an incredible writer and I was drawn in right from the start. I will continue to follow her and hope to find a tamer work.

Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

The narrator is obviously a professional announcer because it sounded like every sentence he was trying to sell a product. The entire book was like I was listening to a commercial. The story was ok, not my favorite Michael Chrichton book.
