Worst Book Of The Series
Reviewed: 08-23-24
This book is a long, long, FART that lasts until about chapter 40-ish.
The series started out hot, but has turned into the same repetitive information for chapter after chapter.

Story
One minute I was a courier for criminals, making ends meet so I could take care of my little brother; the next, four stunningly hot Norse gods had brought me back from the dead with wings sprouting from my back and a whole set of valkyrie powers. I guess that's just how life goes sometimes. Too bad our victory over our supernatural enemies turned out to be a farce. The divine home I thought I'd receive is a trap instead - a trap that's slowly closing in on us, dredging up every painful moment from our pasts.

Up to chapter 12, same things through every chapter.

This book is worse than the first. I’m listening to this as a free book, and I’m about to quit. They have been in the same exact setting for 12 chapters, it’s getting extremely pointless and boring. Sorry, hate to say those things, but it’s true. I honestly can’t even remember which male character is which by name, not enough character development at all. If one of them was killed-off, I would not care. I will change my review if it gets better.

Excited For The Next Book - Highly Recommend For Those Who Liked ACOTAR
Reviewed: 05-16-24
I’m excited for the next book! I liked this book a lot. I would have rated it 4.3 stars if I could. I hardly ever rate books at 5 stars, so 4.3 is high praise for me.
And yes, contains spice! 🌶️
I rated this as four stars because I felt like some parts of the book didn’t really move much, or weren’t as believable. Like, when Neri is losing all of his power and has significant trouble shifting into his wolf form, but then can still turn into three men for a sex scene… The first book was chef’s kiss, and the second and third just didn’t hold the same amount of “wow” for me to also be five stars. Once the story returned to its roots at the end I started to feel that original magic again. Sometime with stories I don’t enjoy when the storyline is taken outside of the original setting, it loses its original home-like-familiarity for me. However, now that Nephele has returned home I liked it a lot more.
HOWEVER, I still realllllllllly like this series and would recommend to anyone. I know there are publishing issues with the fourth book going on, so I may go back and listen to all three again.

Grannie Smoked Some Cigs, Then Read About a 20+ Year Old Who Acts 12
Reviewed: 02-29-24
The narrator does not match the age of the character, at all. No offense. She sounds like a 65 year old who is a former smoker. The main character acts like a young teen, but is in her 20’s. However, somewhat enjoying it, since it was a free book on Amazon. The overall ratings would be much higher on here overall for everyone if the female narrator was someone different. No offense, sorry. This has 1% spice, once scene for two seconds. The romance between the main character and her mate is very weak, which makes it hard to believe. A lot of time is spent on things that just flat out will not get you invested in the characters at all. I did not get any attachment to the main character, it was just too hard to like her and also there wasn’t enough personal information to bond with her as a reader.

Story
Everyone dreams of marrying a prince - except for me. I am nothing more than a pawn in my adoptive mother's diabolical plot against the seven kingdoms. I was the chosen tool, her sharpened blade that would cut the deepest into the heart of the kingdom of Baist. But like all deadly weapons, my wedding is two-edged sword that could cost me my soul. For I am Rosalie, one of the adopted daughters of Lady Eville, and it is my duty to enter into a loveless and hate-filled marriage with the narcissistic Crown Prince of Baist.

The narrator has such a start/stop way of speaking. It makes her speech very staccato.
Very delighted for a free book from Amazon. Seems like it’s best for young adults, but I still enjoy it!

Story
For weeks, we retraced our steps back to Mistfell and the lingering shadow of the Veil at the boundary between realms. Traveling through the kingdom, I denied the evidence in front of me, unable to fathom that I wasn’t the lost princess of Faerie. Instead, it is Fallon who must fear the consequences of her heritage. Which leaves me with a single, unanswered question. Then, I awoke, caged high above the throne of the Queen of Air & Darkness.

Worst Out Of The Three
Reviewed: 02-20-24
Filler book that drags on and on and on and nothing happens at all. The first two books are okay, but literally nothing happens in this book. So bored. I Googled what happens in the remainder of the book early on because I needed to know if it was even worth completing. I feel bad writing something negative, but nothing happens.

Eh. Just Eh.
Reviewed: 01-16-24
There are several scenes that pretty much make up the entire book. I feel like not much really happens overall. Ya, it was an easy listen. Ya, I did like it. But, it wasn’t any earth shattering new series. Having to wait an entire year to most likely get the next book… whatever. Maybe I am jaded because this is the third book I am severely disappointed with, the author has lost her mojo in two other series that are also interconnected. I do think the second book will move at a faster pace, and more will happen. This was just an extremely long build up to an eh ending. However, will I listen to every book in the series as they come- YEP. I understand there is the excuse that “world building takes time”… mmm’kay. Due to the lackluster storyline as far as interesting things, I’ll have to re-listen when the next book comes out because I won’t remember anything. Sorry, I feel bad saying all of that. It was a simple, okay, read. Not terrible. But not earth shattering. I’d recommend it, yes. It’s a good filler book between other better reads that she has written.

This Author Must Be Burnt Out On Creativity…
Reviewed: 11-02-23
Ugh. I am past half way and I’m struggling to finish. This book is so repetitive chapter after chapter. Nyktos is basically Sleeping Beauty, snoozing away. And Sera is the Plated Prisoner. Just like the most recent Blood and Ash, there isn’t much creativity and substance here. The constant “I shouldn’t have said that, he is going to punish me” is cringe worthy, page after page after page. The book has tiny breadcrumbs of interesting things, but the bulk of it is like wading through molasses. If there is one more scene of Sera “speaking up” when some sort of abuse or ethical dilemma is presented I may throw my phone. If there is one more instance of “internal screaming” put a fork in me I’m doneeeeee. Literally the reader is stuck in a cage of boredom. Sorry, I feel super harsh… but I’m not lying though, Wait for this at your local library, for free.
