Story
Monday mornings aren’t supposed to be fun, but they should be predictable. However, on this particular Monday, Stephanie Plum knows that something is amiss when she turns up for work at Vinnie’s Bail Bonds to find that longtime office manager Connie Rosolli, who is as reliable as the tides in Atlantic City, hasn’t shown up. Stephanie’s worst fears are confirmed when she gets a call from Connie’s abductor. He says he will only release her in exchange for a mysterious coin that a recently murdered man left as collateral for his bail.

I enjoyed this one more then I have the last couple. More of the people we all love at this point. I’m a sucker for character development though even if it is more of the same. I really enjoyed that the full cast got more spotlight. But…. it was also a little thin on the mystery/story even for those we love.

Story
Sean Kowalski no sooner leaves the army than he's recruited by Emma Shaw to be her fake fiance;. Emma needs to produce a husband-to-be for her grandmother's upcoming visit, and, though Sean doesn't like the deception, he could use the landscaping job Emma's offering while he decides what to do with his civilian life. And, despite his attraction to Emma, there's no chance he'll fall for a woman with deep roots in a town he's not planning to call home.

Third time is a charm!
Reviewed: 04-22-18
This was fantastic! I really enjoyed the first two but this is one that I want to reread (or listen to) now, even before picking up the next in the series. Love them all.
So much depth with the Kowalskis clan which just makes the story so.. real. Kat was a hoot and I loved that the author had some parts with her narrative.
I also enjoyed hearing about her new aging love and that dynamic, not frequently written about. It just made me want Emma & Sean to end up being the ones on the bench watching fireworks even more.
Emma was also fierce and Sean strong without being domineering which is a combo I love.
Great read and recommend to all. Could be a stand alone but do yourself a favor and start from the beginning.

Story
Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back, packing a whole lot of attitude. This time around, she's on the trail of Kenny Mancuso, a boy from the working-class burg of Trenton, New Jersey, who has just shot his best friend. Fresh out of the Army and suspiciously wealthy, Mancuso's also distantly related to Joe Morelli, a vice cop with questionable ethics, a libido in permanent overdrive, and a habit of horning in on Stephanie's investigations.

New Favorite Series!
Reviewed: 12-23-17
I tell you, Janet sure knows where and when to end a book! Not sure if it is just because I know there is already a next but unlikely. I really enjoyed the development of the storyline. Timing was impeccable- witty come backs, moments of sincerity, addition of new characters, all of it.
Stephanie is quickly becoming one of my favorite protagonists! I dig the way she shoots from the hip. Such a great character of a person. Evanowich does a great job of this with all of the characters actually.

Keeps Getting Better
Reviewed: 12-14-17
So it is said that you can read this as a stand alone but do yourself a favor and read the series! I am not sure how the author Penny Reid does it but I swear the series only gets better with each book and that is saying something because I LOVED the first book. After reading 6 books you would think that it gets repetitive but I assure you it does not.
I feel with Marie as though I knew about her from the other stories I didn’t know her. To know her is to love her though as I am sure the rest of her knitting group would tell you. Her view and how she lives her life were refreshing. I really enjoyed how she and all her glory through the series was listed out by Greg, it made it all come full circle.
Matt was a lovely surprise. I was excited when I realize it was that Matt. I wasn’t sure how his child like demeanor was going to... get me to like him but he turned out to be just as hot as the other husbands. Knowing what Marcus told Marie about him was true didn’t hurt either. Haha.
Any who. Loved it. Only criticism is that the narrator annunciated the name Sandra differently than others which isn’t wrong but annoyed me still the same. I like continuity. Again, not wrong so I didn’t even knock a star off but I had to complain about something right?

This was one of the best sequels I have ever read. At the end of the book instead of essentially rereading parts of the last book this one pulled threads from the fabric of the story I didn’t even know existed, actually, I felt this way about all of the story. Who knew that two stories that happened with the same people in the same time could be so different yet both soooo good?! If I was a more athletic person I would have been jumping up & down on my couch and doing cart wheels as it was that good!
The narrator did a great job with all of the accents and even the male voices. It was a good listen of a great book.

Story
Everyone in Bell Harbor thinks career-minded plastic surgeon Evelyn Rhoades needs a husband. Everyone, that is, except for Evelyn…sort of. Even if she did want a husband (which she doesn’t…most of the time), she’d never let something as intangible as fate determine who she marries. No, if she’s going to find someone to spend her life with, she’ll do it scientifically: With a carefully crafted list of criteria and an Internet dating site. But when intoxicated, law-breaking Tyler Connelly crashes into her life by way of a stolen Jet Ski, unruly emotions defy common sense.

I thought this was a great read. I finished quickly as I was excited to turn the next page. When listening to the book the narration was very well done. She did a great job with the lead character, nailing the dry wit. I really enjoyed the storyline. The bad dates were fantastic to read about, so funny! I enjoyed the ending, though I was sad to see it come, so happy it ended the way it did. Just perfect.

I loved this book! Laughed out loud with these totally believable characters. It had a little bit of everything in it- love, lust, comedy, suspense. I will be recommending it to friends and would read a sequel, not that it needs one.
