Talk about intense! Every mother's worst nightmare is brought to life in this twisty, locked room thriller. While flying home from visiting family, Makayla and her infant son, Liam, have the worst, most eventful flight of their lives. Liam goes missing midflight, and no one can find him 😳 He can't have gone far, right? I mean, they're 30k feet in the air, trapped in a tin can... whew! What a ride!

While Leike drove me absolutely bonkers with her immature BS in the beginning, she grew on me. Connor more than made up for any of her shenanigans. I adore him!!! And Matthias, too! I'm so glad we got both Leike and Connors POV's in this book. I hope the second book continues with Leike's more mature mindset.

The narrators were perfect for these roles! I loved the duet narration!

Omg the banter in this book is absolute perfection! Chase is 🔥 Cocky, yet humble and that mouth of his *whew*. Reese held out WAY longer than I would have... Honorable mention to Talulah as well! All the naked jokes had me cracking up! Definitely looking forward to reading more from this author!

How is this book even better than the first?! Gods its addictive! We meet Silla's sister, Saga, in this book, and she may be my new favorite character. Stuck in their homeland, in the castle her parents were killed in, with the people who killed them, Saga is fragile and yet a force to be reckoned with.

Silla is learning her Galdur and training with Rey so that she can rescue Saga from the false king and queen.

I loved both of their storylines so much! I can't wait to see where their story goes from here!

Multiple POV
Slow burn
He falls first
Unique magic
Mental health rep
Amazing side characters

The narrator is perfect for this book! I pray she continues to narrate the rest of the series! 🤞

Holy smokes! I have a feeling I'll be thinking about this book for months to come! It has a little bit of everything... Viking warriors, enemies to lovers, hidden identities, found family, pretty much all of my favorite tropes. It took me a minute to get into, but once the story grabbed me, I couldn't stop until I finished it! Such a great story! Silla and her father worship the old gods and are on the run from certain death should King Ivar find them. When their past catches up with them and Silla is forced to move on alone, she hides in the back of a wagon headed in the same direction she's headed. Little did she know, the wagon she hid in belonged to the infamous Bloodaxe Crew. She gains their trust and travels the road of bones with them. It's a long, brutal road, but there is safety at the end of it. If they ever make it that far.

Beauty and the beast vibes, but mafia style! The Ballerina and the beast is more fitting for this one. Nico was intense right off the bat while Nessa was so soft and naive. She softened him up pretty quick, though. Grumpy/Sunshine, opposites attract, forced proximity, virgin FMC. Loved this read!

A mafia romance is always a yes from me, and this was a great one! Enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, opposites attract, and a very opinionated FMC. Aida is a force to be reckoned with, and I LOVE that in an FMC. Then we have Callum, her uptight, workaholic, politician husband. He grew on me the more I got to know him. He learned to love Aida for her quirkiness rather than trying to change her like he originally had planned. That makes him A-OK in my book!

Carissa writes the best morally grey MMCs, and you can't convince me otherwise. Atrius is supposed to be the villain, but he's just not. He's a cinnamon roll, vampire with a heart, and yet as lethal as can be to those who attempt to hurt his loved ones.

Sylina, on the other hand... she drove me a little crazy.

Oh my goodness! You don't even want to know how fast and hard I fell for this book! Lilith is so completely relatable, and Vale might be the most adorable vampire out there! Lilith comes off as cold and aloof, all about the science... but inside, she is really doing all of this for the people she cares about. And Vale... sweet Vale sees right through her facade and finds her to be a fascinatingly curious mouse. Love, love, LOVE these characters!!!
