This series is slept on. Slow burn romance. Gender bent, reincarnated Asgardians and crazy animal sidekicks... so entertaining and hilarious. Natalie Drake did such a great job narrating this.
I was surprised how much of a slow burn this was as I've read Kendall Grey's Strings series and this was the opposite on the smut scale. Her writing is great and kept me jumping to the next book, eager to find out what craziness Loki gets into next. I'm sad it's over.

I'm not sure why but I had to repeat the first 5 chapters several times to get into it. but I think it was more a "me" problem. once my brain stuck to what was going on I enjoyed it.

As long as you go in with that title in mind, you'll enjoy it more....if that's what you were actually looking for. Expect silly banter and many many many descriptive sex scenes. Don't expect it to be anything more.
I do feel like this could just be an erotic short story instead of drawn out. But I'm super entertained by the amount of pearl-clutching reviews! 🤣

the story was entertaining but a bit repetitive at times. I get it, he's a king, a demon, and attractive... I got it after the first 10 times it was mentioned.
I hate to say this but the narrator is not my favorite. She's the reason I am reading Zodiac Academy instead of listening to it. I bought this because it was on sale and I didn't realize she was the narrator... my eyes sort of skimmed over that part.

Isolde was just as unlikeable as Persephone in the author's other series. I spent a lot of time facepalming or rolling my eyes. Hopefully she gets her head out of her ass in the second book but I won't know because I'm just going to move on with my life. For the rest of you who liked it, I hope Adrian gets more personality so he's more than an erect penis with fangs.

This narrator brought this story to LIFE and kept me completely enamoured with the story. it would NOT be the same without her. The only critique would be that sometimes her tone switched in a scene, making it a bit obvious it was recorded in segments. Still, awesome job, and I hope she's continuing to narrate the entire series.

Let me say that I LOVE Jason Clarke and JF Harding...but even they couldn't save this for me. Maybe I'm a dummy, but this story felt like a second book in a series, not a standalone. I was confused because of the pacing.
Some POVs switched but it was basically the same scene but from the other person's perspective which was redundant.
This could have just been straight up erotica instead of bothering with a backstory.
The story just felt like a vehicle for the smut. Hear me out, I love me some dirty, dirty smut but I prefer that the story (if the author is bothering with one) be well written.
