Story
When Eliza Whitney loses both her beloved husband and her high-powered job in the same month, she’s uncertain what the next chapter of her life will look like. At 53, she’s too young to retire and too old to start over. Then her estranged father’s widow contacts her and asks her to come to Sanibel Island to help settle his affairs. Eliza sees the trip to a place called Shellseeker Beach as a distraction from her loss and maybe a way to get some closure on the difficult relationship she'd had with her father.

Virtual voice is a disaster!!
Reviewed: 12-13-24
I listened to 7 hours, put it down for awhile. thinking I could get past the virtual voice. It was worse when I picked it up again because the voice could not draw me back into the existing chacters.
I cannot rate the story or overall because I can't remember the story and overall I do not recommend which is unusual for me.🤫

In the northernmost reaches of Scotland, where a string of little islands in the North Sea stretches towards Norway, lives Gertie MacIntyre, a proud island girl by birth. Her social circle is small but tight: family and friends, particularly the women in her knitting circle. In the whitewashed cottages of their hometown, everyone knows everyone, and the ladies of the knitting circle know more than most. In a place of long dark winters and geographic isolation, the knitting circle is a precious source of gossip, home, laughter, and comfort for them all.

Not a psycho killer fan

I was looking for something light and fun. I don't enjoy the 'having to look over your shoulder feeling' for someone who wants to kill you for their own pleasure. I finished the book and was happy with the predictable end that good wins over evil.

Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

I don't think I could get through it on my own with out Father Mike's prayerful help.

Story
Two classic stories of finding love where you least expect it! Marriage Wanted: As far as Nash Davenport's concerned, marriage isn't shelter from the storm - it is the storm. He's a divorce attorney, himself divorced, who believes no married couple can live up to their wedding vows. My Hero: Would-be romance writer Bailey York has already failed twice at love. She thinks men are wonderful to read and write about, but that's it. Which is probably why she has such difficulty creating a hero for her novel. What she needs is a real-life example.
