From the opening line to the satisfyingly lovely ending, Always Emilie was pure joy. Alyson Root has a wonderful way of turning a phrase. The MCs and supporting characters felt like family. I know this is one book I'll come back to time and again.

This is a beautiful story of two women who are made for each other, they just can't get their timing or communication right. They're so good together, yet they keep missing opportunities to speak their minds and hearts. Assumptions and fears are relationship killers. I loved both of the MCs and their friends. This was funny and fun, brave and hot.

Jackie Leeder makes the most of her one-night “bang-and-runs” when her high school tormentor crashes her bar scene. Loved the story and the journey. Not so crazy about the virtual voice. No inflections and sometimes difficult to tell which character is talking during conversations. But again, aI loved the story 😊

The friendship between the three main characters is so good and real. They're tentative, cautious, and willing to try. Each person brings their own story and issues to the table, and all are shared in a thoughtful and mature manner. The connection between Fin and Rylee is so strong, sweet, full of longing .. and worth the wait. I love this book.

I couldn't stop listening. Seriously, this book is so damned good that I only paused to sleep when I couldn't stay awake any longer. The chemistry between the main characters was sublime and off the charts at the same time. Plenty of twists and tortured angst assured I couldn't stop. Simply brilliant.
