Publisher's summary

Jill and Carrie - both married with teenage children - meet one day during Jill's lunch break at a local park. Soon a friendship is forged. A friendship that deepens with each visit.

Jill's husband still lives and breathes the coach's life, a life that leaves him little time to spare for Jill. Left on her own more and more, Jill finds herself searching for the indefinable something that has been missing all her life.

Married to a successful businessman, Carrie Howell retired early from a career in real estate to spend more time with her teenage boys and to pursue her lone passion - painting. She, too, has felt for some time that something is missing from her world.

The Cottage is the story of two women pulled by a force stronger than their marriages, stronger than themselves. The story of Jill and Carrie. Two women. One love.

Wonderfully written and performed

Ah, this well written story touched me so deeply, as I too have experienced the truity of these words. Well done and applause to both Ms. Hill and Ms. Craden. Well done indeed!

Sad but good

I've always enjoy Gerri Hill's book and this one is no different! Story is pretty short, it's a book you can listen in one setting, it's so short that I don't want it to end. It's a book I will go back to listen multiple time for sure.

No spoilers, but this definitely goes on the read again list

This novel is an emotional love story between two women who meet unexpectedly one day in a park. It doesn’t take long before they share their lives—bit by bit—without drama or pretense. Their trust and mutual respect for one another grows into a lasting love. Gerri Hill, you had me at chapter 2. I was so moved by this sweet, honest romance, you led me through smiles and tears and back again! Abby Craden was at her best with this one. She added even more richness and depth to the two well developed main characters. This is a keeper!

Very different still excellent

Have you ever had a book with this combination: Gerri Hill the writer and Abby Craden the narrator, and not enjoy it? I haven’t. No surprise there, I know I will love the book. But this one was surprising on so many levels, I am not going to revel the story line or the ending, I will let you read it, but it is a very different book.
Enjoy.

A Powerful Message

Nothing is promised for tomorrow. The storyline was sweet. It's always nice when two people can come together and find love. Carrie's dying added an extra element. A life being taken. Nothing is promised to last. Enjoy life and love while you can.
