Sissy’s reading was like sitting in the room with her. Her voice emotes so much compassion and empathy. Excellent book with so much insight on how to combat anxiety as a parent and as a human being. If I could give this book 100 stars, I would. Highly recommend.

No twist?

Man, I have always love JG.
I was preparing the entire time for who was on the inside- setting them up- so ready for the big reveal that it was the hotel friend of Luca or Jack, or someone from Bendinni.
I was really bummed w the ending.
Felt like he set me up for a twist that never came:(

Story
This haunting, harrowing, gloriously moving recollection of a life on the American margin is the story of Rick Bragg, who grew up dirt-poor in northeastern Alabama, seemingly destined for either the cotton mills or the penitentiary, and instead became a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter for The New York Times. It is the story of Bragg's father, a hard-drinking man with a murderous temper and the habit of running out on the people who needed him most.

Story
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Oh, I absolutely love this book. Her writing is spectacular and of course her reading of it is so impactful. I love thearc of her story. So much raw honesty, but still hopeful.
