This is a fabulous book. This does a wonderful job presenting both sides of the argument fairly. This is not “preachy”, but shows how God works all things together for good. Shows the power of prayer.

Story
Like most gentiles in Nazi-occupied Paris, architect Lucien Bernard has little empathy for the Jews. So when a wealthy industrialist offers him a large sum of money to devise secret hiding places for Jews, Lucien struggles with the choice of risking his life for a cause he doesn't really believe in. Ultimately he can't resist the challenge and begins designing expertly concealed hiding spaces - behind a painting, within a column, or inside a drainpipe - detecting possibilities invisible to the average eye. But when one of his clever hiding spaces fails and the immense suffering of Jews becomes incredibly personal, he can no longer deny reality.

His books, his papers, his life’s work. The Nazis have no idea what they have just destroyed. And without that physical record, Alfred is one of only two people in the world with his particular knowledge. Knowledge that could start a war, or end it.

This was a wonderful and very encouraging book. The stories were spiritually amazing to me. God is working mightily with the Muslim people. It is a bit disconcerting to have a male narrate this book. I had to keep reminding myself that the book was written by a female.

This is a great book that reveals the spiritual darkness around us. This book is creepy to read at times but a very powerful example of how Jesus can save and use absolutely anyone. Mike Lehann reminds me of the apostle Paul. This book is a testimony to the unsaved and strengthening to Christians.
