Story
As a fixer for one of the New York Mafia families, Levi would rather keep a low profile. That changes when the Outfit, a mysterious organization, reaches out to him for assistance. Threats to a set of world leaders have been traced back to members of organized crime and their connection with government insiders from DC and Moscow. When dealing with criminals, Levi knows what to do. However, when he finds himself immersed in a world filled with smiling officials, political apparatchiks, and deceit beyond compare, he learns why some people think of government as The Swamp.

The range of the narrator is by far the best I’ve listened to. The entire series is definitely worth the price of admission. The one nit I have to pick is the author’s use of the word “silencer.” This is incorrect. The proper term is “suppressor.” Gunfire isn’t silenced, but rather, suppressed.

Story
The Aftermath of a stunning victory—especially an unexpected, complete, and final victory—should be high-fives all around, listening to politicians give boring congratulatory speeches, and a well-deserved rest for the Merry Band of Pirates. Yes, the galaxy is still a freakin' mess, but that is nothing new, and for a change, that can be someone else's problem. Until, you know, something really bad happens, and only the Pirates can deal with the problem... Or not.

Story
Mitch Rapp hates owing anyone a favor—especially when it’s the world’s most powerful crime lord. But when Damian Losa calls, Mitch is honor bound to answer. The Syrian government has created a highly addictive new narcotic that it plans to distribute throughout Europe. It’s a major threat to Losa’s business and he’s determined to stop it by any means necessary. Rapp is the perfect choice for the mission. Not only does he have extensive experience operating in the Middle East, but he’s also entirely expendable.

This was a good listen, but from the beginning, it wasn’t the same. Steven Weber is a good narrator, but George Guidall has narrated the vast majority of the Mitch Rapp books, and that makes a difference. I’d recommend it, but it won’t be the same.

Overall, I found the story enjoyable. It was never slow, and didn't hesitate to purchase the second. My only issue was the narration. Mark Gagliardi could do much better. He changes his voice little when voicing different characters, and doesn't bother with accents at all. If good narration is important to you, you probably wouldn't enjoy this.

In the wake of this power vacuum, China and Russia begin to flex their military muscles and expand their dominance in the world. They have the most up-to-date technological innovations ready for battle: railguns, unmanned drone tank vehicles, exoskeleton suits, and cyber warfare.

Overall, a good listen, and worth the effort. My biggest problem was that there was so much going on in the build-up, that I think the authors got lost in the weeds. The most glaring error was the apparent lack of submarine protection of the carrier battle group. Completely unbelievable.
