Make books longer. Combine books.
This has happened all through the series. Feels like a money grab.
Enough with the filler at the end of every book. I don't care what Emily has to say.
Don't get me wrong the series is a fun listen but come on.....
Also why release a million spin-off series on audible when the main series hasn't been fully released?

Rezkin is an elite warrior who aims to restore order in Ashai after Caydean's attack on the King's Tournament transformed former allies and trading partners into enemies. With no army and only a ragtag group of refugees, Rezkin must wrest control of the kingdom from the mad and powerful usurper, who seems bent on destruction, and this may not be the biggest challenge. If he fails, the kingdom will be ripped apart, and Rezkin will have violated Rule 1 - to protect and honor his friends.

Any additional comments?
The first couple of books in this series were very entertaining. The idea of a never dying soldier seemed fresh and new.
After 7 books, plots are now running together. James Mcgill kills the bad guy. Bad guy comes back later in the book, later in the series. James Mcgill dies. James Mcgill comes back.
Rinse and repeat.

I like M.R. Forbes. I think his book Starship Eternal book 1 is well worth a full credit.
This book should be 1.99 with whispersync. The story has been done and the narrator speaks very slowly but not fast enough for 1.25 speed.

What disappointed you about The Waking Fire?
3 strikes and your out.
Blood Song was epic
Tower Lord was a good/decent read
Queen of Fire was almost terrible
the Waking Fire....not good. Boring. No discerning voices between characters. Found myself stopping the book and doing other things. Had to force myself thru chapters
After Blood song, Anthony Ryan was on my buy immediately list.
After Waking Fire, Anthony Ryan will only be purchased if on sale

Story
The Mortal Plane has long been divided among the servants of Light and Darkness, suffering a thousand years of atrocity by both sides. When one god finally rose up and slew another, The Pact was formed, forestalling any further damage to the realms of men. But now, over the last few decades, signs of the Demons and their mindless Accursed minions have dwindled to an all-time low. It seems that after a thousand years of conflict the Gods of Light and the Gods of Darkness have finally tired of the bloody war. Or have they?

Inner Monologue Problems
Reviewed: 05-10-16
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Do you remember the voice from Field of Dreams (if you build it they will come?)
Well the main character as well as several others have these inner monologue parts throughout the book. Not that this is a problem....but the voice is that ghost whisper. That ghost whisper is the same for all characters and makes up about 15% of the book.
Is it bad enough to skip the Audible and just get the book? Almost. By the 20th time you hear it you start to cringe.
Any additional comments?
Books was enjoyable, I would suggest you stick to print.

What did you like best about Scout Force? What did you like least?
It is obvious that Audible and Amazon allow full on shills for reviews.
There is no possible way anyone with ears could comment positively on this narration.
Odd pauses and weird pronunciations. Sometimes I wonder if 'Bill' is a native speaker of English.
Try reading the story before you record it. Did you record this in one take?
Dear Authors, picking bad narrators reflects poorly on you.
