I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. I always love a Zachary Webber Narration. My first time hearing Amanda Ronconi her delivery was comedicly vulnerable and I liked that. I enjoyed the beginning meet cute and the sound effects throughout the story it enhanced the listening pleasure. The story was charming.

Erin Mallon is the best Narrator ever!

I was enjoying this book about a small town in my Great State of Michigan, wondering if Jana Aston wrote this book with Erin Mallon in mind to narrate the book or if it was just fate that book and narrator hooked up!

Erin pulled off the delightful sense of humor of each of the Christmas sisters….Holly, Ginger and Noel.
The story is a 3 novella series about the 3 sisters who find love in their small town of Reindeer Falls, Mi.
I recommend this book for a light hearted Holiday read about the sassy , sexy sisters and the men that they meet.

The story is laugh out loud funny!

Wow this book has it all, friendship, humor, love, drama, sadness, (I didn’t see that happening) and happiness.
I happened upon Abby Jimenez during an interview with Erin Mallon on Instagram. I heard Abby talk about her books and her personal life and her success with the love and support of her husband. That true story was just as sweet as this book, The Friend Zone.

I loved this book because of the internal dialogue the character has going on inside her head. I thought that was a clever way to write a story. Payton has a funny quirky personality and reminds me of someone I could be friends with myself. I love the talented narrator Erin Mallon, she has performed Jana’s other books which is part of the reason I knew the book would be good. I liked that the story referenced the coffee shop from Jana’s other books, I noticed this was also a May/December romance just like the other story by Jana. Just because she has similar details from her other books in this book that doesn’t mean the story line is the same. There is a HEA so if you like that it’s all good. Vince and Payton 4ever!

Dark but Conflicted

I knew from previous reviews that the book would be dark, I don’t like the dark dominance books, however what persuaded me to purchase The Bratva’s Baby was the narrator, Wen Ross, he is one of my favorite narrators. On to my review of the story.

I don’t usually give spoiler alerts in my reviews so I realize this review is vague. It may not persuade you one way or the other.

I enjoyed Kazmir’s and Sadie’s love story. I was confused about how Sadie fell in love with this dark brooding man. If you extend a little lee-way to the story it will eventually make sense.
I enjoyed the push and pull of Sadie’s defiance of Kazmir, which of course pushed him to his limits. He was conflicted and that created doubt on why he doesn’t want to train her like the others. Sadie is special....and that is how she breaks down those walls in his heart. The story had vulnerability for both characters. I liked how Sadie was a fighter and was feisty and wee bit funny. Kazmir had me on the edge of my seat because he was dark. I feared for Sadie safety but (spoiler alert).....things didn’t turn out as bad as my imagination was thinking. I was able to predict one point of the story, but was pleasantly shocked by the way the story progressed. It was 4/5 stars for me. I enjoyed Wen’s Russian Accent thought it was authentic as far as my knowledge of the Russian Dialect goes. (I don’t have any knowledge 😆) . I felt the book was good.

I watched the TV Land series before I knew this was a book. I am glad I found the series before the book. I enjoy the television show much better.
If I had read the book first, I probably would not have given the TV series a chance.

Seeing the TV series first helped me visualize the story, but in the book the protagonist and some of her supporting friends and bosses had different names and were written differently than the series. I found that hard to folllow the story in book format because I couldn’t keep the characters straight.

I thought the narrator was ok.
I tried the book to see how it differs from the show. I am glad I did. I did read this book through the romance package, I am glad I didn’t have to use a credit for it.

This is my first review of this book, it is my second time reading the series.
What I like about this story line is that it is very well rounded.

It is filled with mystery and intrigue around all the Characters, all the characters that interact in this story have their own secrets to be discovered.

The book is narrated by the ever talented Grace Grant. It begins with two roommates Ella Ferguson and Sara McMillon discovering the journals of a young women named Rebecca. They discover the BDSM world she gets wrapped up in and then discover Rebecca has disappeared.
Sara can’t let go of the mystery and ends up trying to find Rebecca to return her journals to her. During Sara’s search, she ends up getting involved and taking over Rebecca’s job.
Sara meets hot and sexy artist Chris Merit who fights his feelings for Sara and is resigned to protect her from her arrogant dominant boss Mark Compton. Sara soon discovers Marc and Chris have a hate/respect relationship and Chris vows to protect Sara from the clutches of Marc Compton.

Would you listen to Damaged Like Us again? Why?

I bought this book awhile back and read three chapters and stopped. I just couldn't get into it. I re-read it today reached 3 chapters and I didn't want to keep reading. I forced myself to keep going. I eventually reached a point in the book where I started to enjoy it. Would I read it again, yes probably now, that I know what happens. .

Who was your favorite character and why?

Luna was my favorite, but I enjoyed Jane and Sullivan as well. I loved Luna because she was funny and feisty. I loved when she went over to Moffy's house after she got her infection. She was hysterical.

What about Alexander Cendese and J. F. Harding ’s performance did you like?

I don't know who did what voice but I was impressed that with so many women in the book they did assign distinct voices for each character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I had to stop for awhile between chapters. It wasn't a story line that kept me interested.

I enjoyed the Crossfire Series so much and enjoy Sylvia Day's talents. Her other books are period piece's and dark vampire-ish stuff that I don't care to read about. So when I discovered this book was being made into a movie for passionflix -I reviewed the synopsis and watched the trailer and new I had to read it before I watch the movie. I loved the story and now can't wait till November for the movie.
Now about this book, the story opens similarly to the vibe of Crossfire which gave me hope it was going to be a page turner.
************************************Some spoiler details below

Gia walks into a tall building in NYC for an interview with Lee Yeung. She appears to have failed the interview and leaves to return to her family restaurant for support from her peeps. In walks Lee Yeung and offers her the job. She and Lee form a distant friendship respecting the boundaries of boss/employee. An event takes place and Jax Rutledge is there a man from Gia's past and a gentlemen from Lee's past too. (The name escapes me) Gia and Lee find the men are competing for the same restaurant/tv option that they are trying to sign. Gia and Jax share a dance and they discuss their past history. I wish I could have been privy to that knowledge at this point in the book. Gia said you left me, he says you left me and she said you didn't fight for me. He said I could give you what you wanted and you deserve to have that. The re-connection begins with mysterious tones of Jax's family life that he is keeping from Gia. Gia gets frustrated because he won't talk about it and goes on a fact finding mission to Deanna Johnson a reporter in NYC (some may recall she tried to take down Gideon Cross in his story) I though that was cool the Sylvia tied the 2 novels in together. Deanna discovers Jax past and threatens to run the story. Gia returns home to discover she is the reason Jax is so stressed about a threat to their family and the plans they have for a Political Career for the Rutledge Family. Gia fesses up to Jax he gets really mad and tells her to get out. Hi threatens Deanna and Jax witnesses this act of love and the two reunite. This is my interpretation of the story. It was worth the read and the credit. It didn't leave me feeling cheated, or that the story was rushed like the other reviewers believe. The story had some cute funny stuff with interactions between Gia and her brothers and sister in law. So that gave some good fun into the mix and who Gia is and how far family will go for each other. I left out some details in this story for you to discover on your own.

I enjoy KR books usually. I enjoy a great comedy and awkward meet cutes. This book had very little depth for me. It fell flat.
The book begins with Bren waking up after a one night stand looking for away out of the situation. Already I felt cheated because there was no build up to the "one night stand" so that was an odd way to begin a book. Then with in one to a couple of days after she begins to feel nausea and tender breasts. This detail seems highly unlikely but if I extend belief then I guess I will buy it. She goes to the Dr. that her friend/boss recommends and that's when she meets Mason again and they put two and two together and realize that she maybe pregnant. I read in a previous review that the story would be hilariously awkward. I did not find the book at all Hilarious and I don't remember laughing much if at all. I was patient and waited for the story to build the hilarity to develop and it really didn't go up from there. The book just didn't fulfill the romance pursuit. The story lacked depth for me. I just didn't care about this couple at all. I returned the book for a refund. I am curious to see if anyone else felt like I did.
Sorry KR I didn't like this one. I don't see all the hype. It felt forced.
