I almost did not purchase this book because of the bad reviews it got. Never-the-less I went ahead and listened to it. I could not put it down once I got into it. I can't wait for the movie. It is action packed, filled with insights as to how politics works as well as understanding as to how international spying and foreign policy intrigue actually works.
The narration was excellent. I have listed to more than a hundred books and know what good and bad narration can be,
I believe the bad reviews this book got on Audible were politically motivated and am very disappointed the people should stoop so low.
Good read. I highly recommend it.

Story
What starts as a one night stand leaves both of them wanting more, but then Eric finds out Shane doesn't just outrank him, he's an officer. DADT may be repealed, but an enlisted man getting involved with an officer falls under conduct unbecoming a gentleman and could cost both men their careers. They both have kids to take care of, future civilian careers to consider, and retirements on the line. Still, they can't resist each other. As long as no one asks and they don't tell, there's no reason anyone has to find out.

Would you listen to Male/Male Mystery and Suspense Box Set again? Why?
Yes. Each story, being a short story, allowed the writer to condense his artistry without fillers. The romance and sexual episodes were sensual but not overblown into porno. More like a normal part of life. Nice themes where boy meets boy.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
Narrator captured the voices very well.

Unexpected story line and character developement
Reviewed: 12-31-15
What made the experience of listening to The Foster Family the most enjoyable?
The realization that this story had greater depth and emotional development than I expected.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Foster Family?
When I realized that Malcolm and Charlie had also come from foster families and they were in a position to understand and support Kerry with his lack of self esteem and fears of abandonment.
What about Greg Tremblay’s performance did you like?
Greg Tremblay is an incredible narrator and actor. His character portrayals are superb. I actually search out books narrated by him because I know they will delightful to listen to.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I could not put this book down. I related to the characters in a very personal way. I felt great emotion in finding how the characters solved each of the emotional scars left by foster care.
Any additional comments?
This book has so many levels. I expected a gay romance novel and was surprised to find that sex, although present at appropriate places in the story, was not offered gratuitously, but rather as a very important part of the emotional evolution of each character. In addition, the book explores poly amorous relationships in a very positive way.

Absolutely terrible narration
Reviewed: 12-25-15
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Robert. J. Sawyer is my favorite science fiction writer in current years. I read all of his books. This was apparently one of his earlier works and one has to make allowances for that, but his later works show how far he has risen in the ranks of the genre.
What other book might you compare Golden Fleece to and why?
I guess the closest book I can compare it to would be "2001: A Space Odessey" because of the premise that a computer has taken over control of the ship.
How could the performance have been better?
Change the narrator. This is the first book I have listened to narrated by Steven Menasche and I must say that it was a very uncomfortable experience. He narrates with a certain accent and all of the character voices sound the same. It added confusion to a complicated plot and many times I was list as to who was speaking.
Do you think Golden Fleece needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
It definitely could be followed up with many stories, since with book the long journey is just beginning.
Any additional comments?
Robert. J. Sawyer does not disappoint.

What did you love best about American Savage?
The author is quite accomplished in stating an argument, voicing his opinion and defending his stand. Very well done and totally convincing. He brings much of his personal experiences into the discussions.
What was one of the most memorable moments of American Savage?
The chapter on the right to assisted death. His depiction of his mother's death had many parallels to my own mother's death and it further affirmed my conviction that assisted death should be a choice. He makes the argument for it in a very eloquent way.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not necessarily. Each chapter stands on its own and can be listened to separately.
Any additional comments?
This was the first book I have read by this author and I am looking forward to his other books.
