Story
The average human has 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day—up to 41.6 thoughts a minute. That makes the brain an incredibly busy organ! The National Science Foundation estimates that 80 percent of daily thoughts are negative, and of these, 95 percent are repetitive. It’s no wonder so many of us are stuck in a cycle of negativity and rumination.

Spot on title - Great explanation

The title of this book is spot on, what the heck is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy? Such a scientific term that this book break down simply and an a very understandable way. It answers the question exactly... what the heck is it? The flow of the book took me on a journey through understanding the topic and easily applicable ways of overcoming anxiety and depression and endless journeys down the negative rabbit hole. I was able to relate very well to chapter 8 - overcoming OCD,... and then understanding the addictions of the people close to me,. The idea of helping them take back control and for my own OCD is very encouraging and make this book worth the listen. Chapter 3, how to effectively rewire the brain is a chapter I will listen to multiple times to reinforce the concepts and rewire. Great listen.

Startling facts at the beginning about the difference in statistics between men and women. We know it but when you hear it's a great reminder that we have to develop skills to fight for ourselves. It is a very practical guide on how to get what we deserve in a tactful and successful way. I for sure fell into the category of women that lost a minimum $7000 in the first year and subsequent years after. I especially like the chapter on Leverage and using things to your advantage through research and active listening and knowing what my advantage is. I will be employing some of these skills in my next negotiation and will listen again to reinforce and remind myself to fight for my rights and what I deserve with tact and skill.
This audiobook is filled with relevant and relatable examples which helps to motivate and encourage us to use negotiation skills no matter what level or industry. Hearing stats for highly paid women was helpful for realizing that what we experience is not personal, it's women everywhere. No matter the status, income or fame. The chapter on Tactics for women is a practical guide on how to employ the negation skills and what to look out for in everyday conversations. Well put together and thought though, well researched and presented in an easy to understand way.

I like how this audiobook and supplemental PDF are structured. Each relationship rule has strategies for each rule. There are activities throughout that prompts you to think about the topic being spoken about, it suggests that you pause the audio and answer the prompt, which i appreciate because it is easy to just listen to the question and move right along. So the prompt to pause was helpful, simple gesture but powerful. The rules and suggestions are very practical and to the point. It was an easy listen and Easily an audiobook to listen to multiple times to reinforce. I especially like the chapter on trust and practical advise on trust in a relationship. The narrator is also easy on the ears. Thumbs up to the author.

This audiobook was very informative and thorough. It covered things you would never even know affected your gut. I loved how it spoke about eating consciously and undistracted, focusing on eating and not busying yourself. It went it prebiotics and probiotics and suggested going to natural sources of nutrients in food, which I really appreciated because in this day and age where it is easier to just supplement, this book didn’t pick a side but recommended what would work better for us and pros and cons of each. Overall it was a gentle and easy listen. Practical tips and gives listeners aspects into gut health that you would never even guess were connected.

Sleep and potty training are two of your worst nightmares in quick succession. Sleep deprivation is real, and there isn’t a single parent out there who doesn’t know it. The problem is, the more you struggle to get enough sleep yourself, the more daunting sleep training becomes. And when you do finally nail it (and you’re in the right place to find out exactly how it’s done), you might breathe a sigh of relief, only to realize that it’s just a matter of months before you have the next battle ahead of you: potty training.

This book came to me at the right time as I try to re-train the 2 years of sleep training i had tried that all got hijacked in 1 month when family visited. This book has helped me understand how to approach the sleep training in a more gentle and understanding way< it brought me back down to earth and help me set realistic expectations. I was approaching it with a little impatience and frustration because i had worked hard to develop some sort of routine that no one else really supported or enforces, but i got the short end of the stick. This book made me feel eard. I am trying to get my 3-yr-old to go to bed on her own, at a reasonable time and NOT IN MY BED... We hit the potty training milestone, but this book helped me now figure out how to potty train while sleeping. I will be implementing these practices from the book and revisit as needed, knowing that it takes time. "How to Sleep Train and Potty Train Like Pros" has helped me feel more confident and relaxed and ready to take it on with care and ease and patience. Recommended listen.

While there are no bad kids, more often than not, there are also no bad parents. Where parents tend to go wrong lies in their discipline methods. Poor behavior from kids can drive any parent crazy, but reacting based on emotions can be the worst foundation for discipline. So why not try a different approach?

I was excited to listen to Connection B4 Correction as I navigate toddlerhood. I constantly wonder, how do I get her (3-yr-old) to LISTEN! the first time, or even the second. This book really helped me stop and reflect on not just my child, but also myself. There is a whole chapter on "who are you" Chapter 8 - Know Yourself. There is that inner knowing, but this book helped me to bring that knowing to the forefront and really centered me and helped to dissipate some of my frustrations and anxiety. Both the narrator and the author were a great pair of great information and smooth easy listening.
Of course, with the toddler listening problem that I came into this book with, the author addresses my problem specifically with the chapter "why kids don't listen". I felt understood by the author. I felt comforted and I felt like I wasn't alone, and it wasn't just me or my toddler. It reminded me to engage and connect and helped me shift my perspective in times of frustration, shifting to understanding and compassion both for my toddler and myself. An amazing listen that can be revisited at any time for a helpful reminder.

The affirmation chapter is a good start to your day. This audiobook was very thorough and all encompassing. Great listen!
