This is one of the best I've heard in the genre. Its not some superficial power fantasy crap. Its original, with realistic character development and a spectacular main character arc. The plot is excellent, and the narrator is emotive and engaging. while i can understand why some would dislike the narrator, I think he's a great fit. I haven't enjoyed a book of this genre so much saince Celestine Chronicles.

Ok, so, like the last one, this book sucks from a critical perspective. The mc is overpowered so there's no tension. there's not even a real villain, and while im fine with erotica, the random overly detailed sex between the mc and dragon lady doesn't fit the rest of the story at all. All in all the author is incompetent. The plot is boring, the characters are unbelievable, and the writing style is chaotic. Now, that's why its not good, but why is it entertaining? Becouse its a cultivation story, and the narrator is decent... thats all.

Poorly written power fantasy, or secret masterwork

very entertaining, and engaging, but the main character is still an unrelatable sociopath. Also the narration has a wierd way of glorifying his lack of pity and empathy, which i thought was annoying until i had the thought that maybe the narration is completely worded as if the narrator shares the mc's believes. Just a possible hint that this is Semi 1st person, which would make it way cooler than it actually is.
at the end of the day the story is a power fantasy with really cool concepts, but probably nothing more than that.

Its no master piece, far too much exposition, generally average story telling. its saving grace is that the world is very interesting. i think i like the previous book more because it was more personal in regards to the mc's perspective, still, i enjoyed this one for what it was.

On one hand, the narrator is bad. like, really bad. so bad that it makes me want to vomit sometimes. He would be passable if he didn't have the wierd habit of whispering whenever a character raised their voice. On the other hand, if you can get over that, the story isn't fairly compelling. Full of flaws from a writing perspective, but compelling. I would even rate it 4 stars if the narrator was at least slightly below average, and 5 if the narrator was good enough to pick up some of the slack left by the writer. All in all I imagine it would be better to just read it.

Alot of people are saying to skip this one, but don't. it may not be the best in the series but even as the worst in a series like this its still far better than the average book. There is less character development and more rpg script, but that can be interesting too, and the character development is replaced with hard core action, so its alright. Plus, there is alot of story progression, so if you do skip, you'll miss some stuff in the next one.

The book ended in a way that I expect the next to feel different... for once. Also I dig the bloopers at the end.

I went through some reviews before getting this and found a few that talked about how annoying and weak the main character is, wich i assumed wouldn't be an issue. turns out i couldn't even finish the story becouse of this problem. I cant stand the MC, mainly becouse he suddenly changed without any character progression. Im done.

This one was a rollercoaster of fealings. It made me tear up and pissed me off multiple times. I was left angry, sad, joyous, and aroused throughout multiple points in the story. in other words, i got what i came for. MC was an ass in this one though, just a warning
