About this listen

Before World War II could reach its conclusion, the world suffered what could only be defined as a cataclysm. Now, Yosemite city stands as the gateway between two worlds and an equal power in the continent. Unfortunately, it’s surrounded on all sides by those who would love to see them fail: the empire in the west, a king to the east, and the tri-lliance of the wastes to the south.

Standing at the top of Yosemite is the warrior king Vince, a ranger turned city state ruler. Supporting him in his endeavors is his inner circle. With a firm grasp on Yosemite, Vince has solidified his borders. He’s gotten the army trained to an elite status. He’s given his people a peaceful lifestyle with an economy that grows year over year. Yosemite is well and truly prospering.

There is a delicate balance between nations in military and trade, however. One that is going to be upended with a skirmish in the lands of southern Yosemite.

The bullseye Vince had worked so hard to remove is back, and bigger than ever. All anyone can do now is prepare for the storm.

Warning: This novel contains adult themes and moral ambiguities. The main character is portrayed as a real person in an apocalypse and will not make choices that line up with society and cultural norms.

This story contains a harem and is an Adult Fantasy novel.

nice end to a story that took a very very dark tur

title says it all, I like the part where the MC (spoilers) and then he (spoilers) and that solved the problem with (spoilers) so over all it was a good read.

Excellent Addition to the series

Another excellent addition to the world of Yosemite, with plenty of room to expand . The author is increasing his story telling skills with each addition, wonderful new story lines are opened and explored. Only draw back is the explicit harem porn the series seems to have sprinkled through out it. This would easily have been a five star book if the explicit episodes had not been sprinkled every other chapter. The scenes seem to add nothing to the story and detract from what would be an otherwise five star presentafion. The voice artist for this volume is competent and does an exceptionally good job with The various female characfers, male character are tolerable but Sound like comic characterchers of men's voices. Good job with troll and orc male characters but the voice of Vincent (the main male character) could have been done much better and more effectively. Good addition to the series ,seems to bring in the other two series well (The Selfless Hero Trilogy and Super Sales on Super Heroes) the other two series fill in gaps and provide different points of view for a set of interlacing events of a very rich and broad world. This is the most explicit series of the three, definitely not for young people or people that are put off by descriptions of graphic sex acts, but a good story for those that can ignore or tolerate such descriptions.

Who is Runner Norwood?

Four years later…Vince is engulfed in the political duties of the Yosemite Empire and he is getting tired of it. Vince, the Ranger, misses traipsing through the forest, monitoring the environment and animals in his charge. Since Varric capitulated and Vegas succumbed, Vince finds himself away from home much too much for meetings of one sort or another. When he is home in Yosemite, his Lordly duties to service the ever-expanding Dryad community consumes much of his time. As in any war, there are casualties. Vince experiences his own share of casualties, and the depth of emotion conveyed in the story is amazing. The Tri-lliance to the south, as in South America, is the major thorn in everyone’s butt. The Tri-lliance has dragons in its service. The Emperor to the west is treacherous but the Tri-lliance wants it all. Prepare for the coming epic battle! Truly an excellent fantasy tale; the prudes should have known better to venture forth.

Listener received this title free

that was that...

unfortunately this one feels rather formulaic when you've read a few of Darren's books, but also more like a bunch of scenes put together not a complete story...
as if he didn't have the time or inclination to make it polished and finished...

Andrea is amazing as always and she is what kept this a 4 star review honestly...
great narrators can wastly improve a book and Andrea is more than great
