Story
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

Story
As one of the few witches in Britain, Mika Moon knows she has to hide her magic, keep her head down, and stay away from other witches so their powers don’t mingle and draw attention. And as an orphan who lost her parents at a young age and was raised by strangers, she’s used to being alone and she follows the rules...with one exception: an online account, where she posts videos "pretending" to be a witch. She thinks no one will take it seriously.

Super cute story of coming into your own, getting through and over past trauma and learning to love and be loved by others. This story would have been fun to read even without the witch elements, those just added to the fun. Great weekend October read. Perfect for a campfire with a blanket and a good cup of tea. A story brewed to make you feel warm and cozy and appreciative of family.

What in the 12 Angry Men, Die Hard, Hunger Games, Black Mirror episode did I just read? 70 chapters. 70 freaking chapters of the most boring dialog. I was so bored my head ached to finish reading this book. Yes. yes dangers of complacency from social media and the dangers of relying on AI...but 70 chapters! Also the ending kept going amd going and going. Overall skip it, this is not the best book to base your opinion of this author, but if it was your first book by him it will probably be your last.

Story
Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam “West” Weston for access to subsidized family housing while at UCLA. She also thought she’d signed divorce papers when the graduation caps were tossed, and they both went on their merry ways. Three years later, Anna is a starving artist living paycheck to paycheck while West is a Stanford professor. He may be one of four heirs to the Weston Foods conglomerate, but he has little interest in working for the heartless corporation his family built from the ground up. He is interested, however, in his one-hundred-million-dollar inheritance.

1. I really wanted to like this book because I wanted to get back into thriller/mystery.
2. I really thought the slow burn build up would have led to a more non predictable ending.
3. The ending really made the whole book worth while.
Which one is the lie? .... take a guess

Story
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

Overall a decent story, Although, I would say the voice actors who read this story gave the writing the tone it needed, otherwise you're looking at a mediocre write like the Twilight series . Audible voice actors forbthe win. Spicy parts were ok but they felt like my first highschool boyfriend, full of passion but over in 5 min. Ending on a cliff hanger was a good choice like last book. I'll finish out the series but I hope they don't try to make this into a TV series or movie, Any fantasy fan knows how rediculous talking dragons become on screen, especially if this particular dragon would yell out, "Silver One"! all the time.

So the narrator drove me nuts. I would have read certain reactions very differently. How do I describe it? flat? dull? The writing itself drove me nuts. I get the author was trying to slow burn and build suspense but it got annoying to me. Just answer a question already. If I were the main charachter I would have had questions answered before I started anything magic related. And the ex husband and MIL chapter. Stupid. I love magical fantasy but this just doesn't cut it. I don't think I'll finish the series. Overall meh.

The story was fine. nothing impressive. a short beach read if you're looking for one. Found it distractive all the different voices on audible. If you want to use all those actors just make the movie on Lifetime, because that's essentially what this is, a Lifetime drama. It worked for the long drive I had but nothing compared to JPs other books.
