Story
God is change. That is the central truth of the Earthseed movement, whose unlikely prophet is 18-year-old Lauren Olamina. The young woman's diary entries tell the story of her life amid a violent 21st-century hell of walled neighborhoods and drug-crazed pyromaniacs - and reveal her evolving Earthseed philosophy. Against a backdrop of horror emerges a message of hope: if we are willing to embrace divine change, we will survive to fulfill our destiny among the stars.

I loved thr straight forward writing in this book. The audio aspects were well done, Clear
but instead of being afraid, i felt motivated to get prepared. crisp narrator, nice voice. This book is a frightful "roadmap" of our possible future. 😬

LOVED it...it made me look forward to the next time I would be able to listen. The plot is riveting., thought provoking, disturbing, sad, and truthful. I cried sometimes because her writing made me FEEL what the characters were feeling. Celestial was an antihero I think. I sat one the floor during the last 3 chapters. Great story. MEANINGFUL story. My favorite Audio book, for story and reading/narration. The narration was high quality and highly effective. Enjoyed their reading skills because natural but powerful, while not distracting. LOVED it.

Story
Lane Moore is a rare performer who is as impressive onstage - whether hosting her iconic show Tinder Live or being the enigmatic front woman of It Was Romance - as she is on the page, as both a former writer for The Onion and an award-winning sex and relationships editor for Cosmopolitan. But her story has had its obstacles, including being her own parent, living in her car as a teenager, and moving to New York City to pursue her dreams. Through it all, she looked to movies, TV, and music as the family and support systems she never had.

Her voice was like chewing glass. I am angry at the people who helped her publish this audible book for not forcing her head in the toilet until she agreed to have someone with a pleasant voice read it, or any one else who didn't make you want to stab your ear drums. Did this book deliver what it proclaims to deliver? Nope. A run on whine about her self identified pathetic life, narrated in a painfully distractacting horrible voice. Some good points I can identify with but way too few to make this auditory assault worth it.
