The magic system is quite unique. It's full of funny scenes, mostly revolving around innuendo. Think horny teen aged boy humor. The narrator is pretty good but needs to learn how to pronounce trebuchet.

Story
The usual result of a human taking a runaway semitruck head-on is a very sudden, very fast track to the pearly gates. But for one newly noncorporeal man, there's another option: become a dungeon. Feeling sorry for the desperate angel assigned to him, the man relents. Heck, if it doesn't work out, he can always chat with Saint Peter about it later. Next thing you know, he's a dungeon. Admittedly, a small run-down, somewhat unimpressive dungeon (more of a house, actually), but you gotta start somewhere, right?

Well written and narrated

This book is well written and narrated but the target audience is American middle school aged kids. It's a great intro to the genre for young people but not as deep or action packed as I prefer. I'll be recommending it to my grandsons.

The author is getting better with each book. This one was really good, especially the second half. The sound team is getting better too. It's like the music in a movie. It adds to the emotion of the scene.

Absalom Scryne, the greatest wizard of his generation, has been murdered. There's no other explanation for why his consciousness now resides in his well-worn but perfectly pointed hat. Well, he isn't going to take that lying down . . . or hanging from a branch, as the case may be.

It was quite a cute little story but a never quite found myself laughing. I got it on a daily deal and it's worth the 2.99 I paid but not worth using a credit. The narration was excellent and saved the book from being returned.

Story
Gabe Skelter has a temper, which he likes to imagine has the effect of causing people to fear and respect him. On the contrary, his pudgy, underdeveloped body and negative personality make him more your standard outcast teenager. Worse still, he kinda knows what a jerkweed he actually is. Then, in the middle of a class trip, Gabe finds himself spirited away to Regaia: a world of magic, mayhem, and nerd-tastic adventure. Naturally, he’s completely ill-prepared. But in this realm, he’s a monstrous, muscular man of action.

Story
Our future. Noncitizens and individuals of low social standing can only find work in one place: the virtual world of Disgardium. And that might mean mining ore; it could just as well mean cleaning pigsties or washing dishes in a tavern, but that's about as glamorous as it gets. Fifteen-year-old schoolboy Alex has dreams of working as a space guide. All he can think about is the stars, but life gets in the way, and now his only path to achieving that goal is through the game.

As a particle physicist, William Jenkins is as unsuited to survival on an alien world as any normal 30-something post-doc could be. Thankfully, he’s not alone. With an AI, magic, scientific curiosity, and, most improbably, a deity on his side, Will must come to terms with his new reality before otherworldly terrors forever extinguish the light of hope on this new world.

Story
Noah didn’t expect much from entering the virtual reality world of Asgard’s Fall. Even the danger of the experimental full immersion technology didn’t put him off. It beat living in a nursing home, and it was supposed to let him feel young again...at least until modern medicine and his body gave out. But there was something wrong with Asgard’s Fall. Most of the time, the “gods” running the game didn’t act like AIs were supposed to. Some of the players took things too seriously, like they knew something about the game that Noah didn’t.

Good performance, weak story
Reviewed: 03-30-23
The author needs to learn pacing. Way too much introspection, even in the middle of action scenes. He also needs to learn that stats are a tool to quantify a character's progression, not just a way to lengthen a book. There was very unnecessary repetition of a long list of "blessings" that I started skipping over.
The narrator made this book enjoyable but just barely.

Milton Frederick was originally abducted from his apartment to help defend one batch of pacifistic aliens called The Collective against another set of homicidal aliens called Heliothropes...but he never quite made it that far. Too many stat chapters
Reviewed: 12-30-21
I'm generally ok with crunchy (stat heavy) LitRPG but this author takes it way too far. At least he put most of them in separate chapters. It was irritating to constantly have to unlocked my phone and skip chapters though. At least 1 in 3 chapters were stats that would then be recapped in the next chapter. Please do us all a favor; leave the recap and remove the stat chapters. The writing is good. Definitely B+ or A- material. I'd rate the narrator a solid B. He had some strange pronunciation sometimes but he did different voices for each character and his pacing was good. The compilation was a great value for 1 credit. I wish more authors would make compilations. This is a solid 30 hours of content once you skip the stat chapters and well worth the credit.

Story
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.
