This story kept me engaged. I may have finished it faster if it was not for the narrator. It was a change from the first book and not for the better at least for me. The story overall was a great listen. I look forward to the next book. Depending on the narration I may go for the ebook instead.

Story
After a devastating accident crushed my dreams, I ended up back in my hometown teaching kindergarten. I was trying to make the best of it. That is, until the world I had to leave behind, showed up in my classroom in the form of a five-year-old little girl. Her father living the exact life I almost had. Adam Jacobson is known as the bad boy of rock. While he and his band tour the world, they leave a trail of mayhem. What no one knows is behind the music is a caring, straightedge man with a secret-a daughter who the world is about to discover.

I loved the story. Each book and how they played out. It was slightly predictable but still a great read could not put it down.
I was disappointed with the change in narrators. I was able to punch through. I want more of the night courts adventures.

I am hooked. I am not excited about the upcoming narrator change. Normally I may not continue a series. It’s been so good that I’m willing to give it a shot.
The family that’s has developed is lovely. The author did a great job of showing growth for them.

Story
Mirror, mirror, who's the fairest of them all? I still cringe when I hear that line. A fairy tale that had girls pretending they were the fairest, the most beautiful, and the most entitled. A fairy tale most couldn't grow out of turned my haunted childhood memories into a living nightmare. Girls who grew up believing that pile of garbage became the meanest of all mean girls. And those mean girls were right. It was a line meant for all the beautiful people in the world, and I knew the answer would never be me.

This was such an amazing book. I experienced all ranges of emotions while I listened. I loved the characters and the growth that takes place. The narrator was awesome. I wish there was more. The only change I would make is that the main character should have changed her last name back to her maiden.

I really enjoyed this listen. It starts out great, I felt it lagged just a little lags a little, but overall is a great story.
I think the narrator was really good. I would definitely listen to more books read by her.
I liked the New Orleans charm as well as the voodoo culture. The female characters were strong. I look forward to continuing this series.

This was a very heartfelt listen with great characters. I felt it was a little long and a little predictable. I felt it was a good story but wasn’t completely drawn into it. I am not sure if it was the book or the narration. Overall I liked the story. I wish there was an epilogue to know a little of what went. I really liked the positivities and the touch of spiritual guidance.

A cute romance in a small town. Sunny and Buck have reconnect after many years, for a wedding. The spark remains strong between these characters . As with any small town gossip and opinions of parents may get in the way of their happiness.
Stephanie Dillard did a good job narrating this story.
