About this listen

A misunderstanding sparks an enemies-to-lovers romance between an outdoorsman and an aspiring writer in this funny and festive Christmas-themed novel.

So far, no man in Mistletoe, Idaho, has measured up to the literary heroes in Delilah Gill's favorite books. Anthony Russo is no exception. She's not sure why the steamy smooch they once shared suddenly turned frosty, and she's tried to keep her distance ever since. But she's had enough of being serially single, and she decides it's the perfect time to put herself out there.

Anthony isn't interested in playing games and he doesn't like being used—especially not to make his own best friend jealous. Still, a bruised ego doesn't stop him from imagining kissing Delilah again when she shows up to the local watering hole looking like a million bucks, and the other single men in town start to notice her considerable charms.

As December approaches and the Christmas festivities ramp up, both Delilah and Anthony find themselves roped into Mistletoe's seasonal happenings. It won't be long now before proximity turns loathing into interest, and ultimately a romance that could lead to a very happy holiday indeed . . .

Mixed feelings

Cute story and characters.
Without giving away the plot—the “bedroom scenes” are so graphic it’s cringe.
Second, the male character has committed to waiting for sex, however the female character continues to seduce him in hopes he will cave. If the tables were turned—a guy trying to pressure a gal into sex—this wouldn’t fly. And it really bothered me it was presented as fun and cute since the girl wasn’t respecting a boundary. Love being back in Mistletoe, but … Definitely enjoyed Codi Hall’s first Christmas series better.

Good narration but there are plot difficulties.

I liked the promise of Anthony and Delilah’s story, their slow burn attraction, and the many treasured holiday traditions of their small town of Mistletoe. I was intrigued but saddened by Anthony’s disastrous family dynamics which affect his self esteem and had great empathy for Delilah’s plus sized insecurities and her frustrations with her author aspirations. Their biggest obstacle is the small dating pool in Mistletoe since many of their contemporaries leave town for bigger cities and better opportunities. Delilah first has a crush on Anthony’s best friend before him but a miscommunication leads her to believe than Anthony is repulsed by her. Codi Hall’s characters are appealing and her writing is good but she has a tendency to get wrapped up in inconsequential details that don’t further the storyline and her repeated use of a lack of communication or miscommunication between the hero and heroine is disappointing. I longed for an exploration of the building emotional connection and the actual romance between Anthony and Delilah rather than details about what they ate for breakfast. Despite the plot problems the 4 star narration performances of CJ Bloom and Lee Samuels were enjoyable, and an extended epilogue would have been much appreciated.

Same vibe as the other books, but a ton more spice!

I did enjoy this book. it was cute and fun, although very drawn out in parts. Also, the amount of spice in this one is amplified, so that was a tad jarring. However, still enjoyable! I love spice, just wasn't what I was expecting based on the other books.

Sweet Christmas story

Very steamy Christmas story. I like following the lives of the people in Mistletoe through Codi Hall’s books

overall a fun romance for winter time

I have read all of the past novels by this author and have enjoyed them. it became kind of a ritual to read them every year. I did enjoy this one however one thing that I kind of forgot about was how raunchy the sex scenes were. I don't mind a dirty sex scene but I kind of was surprised by them listening to them. I wasn't the biggest fan of the male narrator. for some reason every time he said baby it made me cringe. the story itself was super cute and I really liked our new main character. I love the plus size representation. she was spunky but not too over the top and the male lead was not too controlling. overall goodread.

Loved it

Anthony is HOTTTTT!!!!! I loved how he never gave up on Delilah, even when she was a little too dramatic. He was so patient and gentle with her! Chapter 31 sealed the deal for me. Must read

Back n forth

It was really good. Everytime the story could have ended it continued and the plot thickened. Good read

Delightful

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this story as much as I did - I might like this series better than the original. Happy to see Anthony get his happy ending.

Romantic Mistletoe

So Mistletoe is a place. The trope is probably second chance romance. The spice was ok. I liked this story and will read/ listen to more from this author.
