About this listen

Your best friend...

Lindsay Boxer is pregnant at last! But her work doesn't slow for a second. When millionaire Chaz Smith is mercilessly gunned down, she discovers that the murder weapon is linked to the deaths of four of San Francisco's most untouchable criminals. And it was taken from her own department's evidence locker. Anyone could be the killer - even her closest friends.

Or a vicious killer?

Lindsay is called next to the most bizarre crime scene she's ever seen: two bodiless heads elaborately displayed in the garden of a world-famous actor. Another head is unearthed in the garden, and Lindsay realizes that the ground could hide hundreds of victims.

You won't know until the 11th hour

A reporter launches a series of vicious articles about the cases and Lindsay's personal life is laid bare. But this time she has no one to turn to - especially not Joe. 11th Hour is the most shocking, most emotional, and most thrilling Women's Murder Club novel ever.

Narrator sets the tone

I prefer McCormicks narration. It really gave a better feel for the characters, not as flat. Not sure if I will listen to 12 will check narrator first.

Kudos to our first Patterson book

We listen to books as I am preparing dinner and afterwards as we relax. While the male half of this duo loves Steven King books, he likes the fact that this book did not take us days to get through and thus held his interest. The shorter chapters and the fact that the chapter numbers were announced followed by a pause became a plus for both of us. That way we could stop the book were convenient while working in the kitchen.

This was our first Patterson book and we both found the book to be very good with its many twists and turns. We liked the surprise ending especially in the “skull” case.

What we did not like was the way Lindsey cut off her husband, Joe, at the knees when she thought there was infidelity. A trained officer would have done interrogation and research. I know she is pregnant but… she still did this with her job.

Since this is our first Patterson book, we have no comparison between his original reader and this new one. That said, we both thought this narrator did an excellent job with the many voices. We had no trouble understanding who was speaking.

A-1 Installment To The Series!!!

I've read all of the books in this series and this one is now one of my favorites. A good mystery! I enjoy the interactions of all the characters. Highly recommended! New narrator for this series - January LaVoy - did an EXCELLENT job! Loved her narration of this interesting tale!
