About this listen

On March 2, 1998, 10-year-old Natascha Kampusch was kidnapped and found herself locked in a house that would be her home for the next eight years. She was starved, beaten, treated as a slave, and forced to work for her deranged captor. But she never forgot who she was, and she never gave up hope of returning to the world. This is her story.

this book was the craziest story I ever heard of happening to anyone. I hope she has a great life now.

I'm only partially through this book. And while I want to continue I am having trouble listening to the narrator. Idk if they needed to go with someone whose first language is English or what, but the cadence and the speed is just off, as though she's not overly familiar with English speaking. It's highly irritating, and I'm not super picky

I can't stand the narrator!

This book is just amazing. The story is basically terrifying. The kind of terrifying that I just could barely put down. It is narrated wonderfully and I am truly moved.

Natascha is an amazing writer. I'm in AWE!!

I absolutely loved this book. It is a testament to human strength and that we have the power to suffer the greatest atrocities, yet ultimately still believe in humanity. Natasha's courage throughout her years of captivity is inspirational. A must read!!

Excellent memoir on courage and survival

Her story was so well written. She endured her captivity and then the for afterwards when police tried to cover up there mistakes. I wish her a long, long, happy life. ❤️

Her strength and finally her escape.

The author doesn't provide an open and transparent account which is what the reader expects naturally.
