A good, classic horror novel with metaphysical and paranormal elements

This would be a fantastic movie. Great characterization, excellent build and a spooky story with consistent rules and world building.

Freaky story

What did you love best about 314?

The opening sequence was one of the freakiest things I have ever listened to.

What did you like best about this story?

It is well written and suspenseful.

What does Vanessa Johansson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration was excellent.

Any additional comments?

It started off great then slowed down a bit but picked up at the end. There is a lot of jumping back and forth between timelines which can be confusing but the author explains why at the end of the book. I was about halfway through the book and then I found out it was part of a trilogy. Initially I was upset because I knew that all the loose ends would not be tied up but the book finishes answering one major question. I look forward to the other two books.

314 (A WIDOWSFIELD TRILOGY)

ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW! This is the first book in the series of three, and after it, I immediately downloaded the second and third series so I had them on hand, just in case I finish the second while I'm out and can't download. I'm not a big fan of the supernatural, I'm more of the psycho/thriller type of reader. However, this author had a unique way of "pulling you in," from the start. The narration is superb, and that's I'm going to say, because of spoilers .HOWEVER, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SURE YOU HAVE A STRONG STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! 😱😈 3:14 🐾

Could have been so much better

The book performance was good however the story was slow and confusing. The few action scenes went fast (should have been more).

Couldn't put it down

This was one of the best books I've read in a few months. I couldn't put it down and I can't wait to delve into books two and three. Perfectly written and genuinely creepy as hell. If you haven't read the chaos horror that is 314, drop what you're doing and enjoy the spiral into deja vu hell.

Surprisingly great!

I had gotten the kindle version of the book a few years ago, but forgot all about it. I saw that Audible had it and decided to give it a listen. The story is like nothing I’ve ever read before and I could not stop listening. Although this is not typically a genre I enjoy, I loved this and can’t stay enough great things about it. I will say however, if gore is not your thing, 314 is not for you.

Great Story

I really enjoyed this story. I started it while going to bed one evening and it started off so intense I almost had to turn it off!
As the story went along an annoying little thing started to show itself. The Narrator has a habit of really missing the Que for emotion and seemed to always lack in feeling or emotion or simply miss the mark where she needed to actually show emotion. Her characters seemed to whine a lot and she would have them whispering but read "screaming".
It took a while to be able to ignore the missed emotions with her narration but I tried hard because it was such a great story.
It kept me coming back until the book was over and now I must decide if I can tolerate this narrator enough to listen to book two.
Overall, this was very much worth the time and I enjoyed the book immensely. I definitely recommend this novel but you might not want to start it when you go to bed. 😬

314, Oh No!

Scary little tale about an evil spirit and a group of people trying to figure it all out. I liked the premise, the characters were more or less believable, and the narrator was really good. Some places lagged a bit but, that's my only real dislike.
