The theft of an infamous piece of jewelry gives rise to a serial killer...

Carlotta Wren is happy to be back to work and in the middle of a big publicity event for a celebrity's new line of charm bracelets. When the event goes sideways, Carlotta thinks a humiliating photograph of her is the worst thing to come out of it... until bodies start surfacing with charms in their mouths. To make matters worse, a member of the Wren family is connected to every murder. When clues start pointing to her long-lost father as The Charmed Killer, Carlotta starts to reconsider everything she believes.

Yankee accent for a Southern Girl???

What did you love best about 4 Bodies and a Funeral?

Stephanie Bond is a wonderful novelist and story teller. Just like her other books, I like humor best of all. The mysteries going on in this book are great too: who did it? where are her parents? is her father innocent and the most important: WHO WILL SHE CHOSE?

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Maureen Jones, VOplanet Studios?

Gemma Halliday that does the "in High Hills" series. She is so talented and funny she takes the mediocre story in these books and makes them interesting and FUNNY!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Sure.

Any additional comments?

I LOVE her books, but the narrator for these books, Maureen Jones, is just OK. She is kinda "blah" and for a book set in Atalanta, Georgia, the heart of The South, for her to pronounce certain words with a "yankee" accent is just plain blaspheme. The word garage shouldn't sound like "gar-aaa-ge". A Southerner would pronounce it: "gar-ah-ge" or even "gar-aaahhh-ge". Gemma Halliday that narrates the "...in High Hills" series is so talented. She is so talented and funny she takes the mediocre story lines in these books and makes them interesting and FUNNY! I can't read these books because the mediocrity, but they are fun stories to listen too because of the narrator. Stephanie is a much better novelist. Anyway, I think your audio books should have a certain zing to them. IMHO.

Fun Series

I'm in it now, can't get out. I enjoy the characters and have even gotten used to the weird pronunciations by the narrator. It's a very lighthearted entertaining book that gets me through my multiple work travels. Sometimes, we need entertainment that not too deep and doesn't require a lot of thinking. This fits the bill for me.

Set in the south with a Canadian narrator.

I like the pace and narrative quality, BUT I’ve never, EVER heard the word, “garage” pronounced the way she did. (And I’ve never heard books with the word “garage” in them soooo many times!) There are so many words pronounced with a Canadian accent. Being from Alabama, I expected a genteel southern reading. Instead, the story could have been set in Canada, instead of Atlanta, Georgia!! It was just ridiculous when there are so many fantastic southern narrators.

Love the story, but not the narrator

The narrator is very distracting! There are certain ways she pronounces words like "garage" and "produce" that I found highly annoying. They almost sound like foreign words that I had to replay in order to understand. But the story is good and I'm going to try to over look it.

Nobody in Atlanta calls a car abode a GRADGE

What didn’t you like about Maureen Jones, VOplanet Studios’s performance?

A southern voice or at least a southern pronunciation of words is necessary. Gradge is not an Atlanta word and neither is dramba.

Disappointed in the ending.

Worst ending to a book I have ever read. I am very disappointed in the ending.
