About this listen

Linda and Octavia are estranged sisters. The stay-at-home mom and socialite have never had much in common... until now. When they suddenly find themselves husbandless and broke, they reluctantly agree to combine their talents and take on a faltering P.I. agency in a strip mall.

Old emotional wounds keep the two at odds and both sisters think they've made a huge mistake. But soon they realize all their clients have secrets... and who better to help them than two women who have secrets of their own?

Two women, to paths,same problem.

It was a very good story about the relationship between the two sisters. Howhow they've lived very different lives but both have the same basic problem.and it is certainly set up for a series.

Wish it would have had a real ending!

I hate when the author leaves strings hanging so you have to purchase the second book to wrap up the story, especially when it's 2 years after the publishing and there isn't a book two yet. :/ this was a very good book, if sad in places. It is not all "funny" as it said in the description.

AWKWARD

What did you like best about Two Guys Detective Agency? What did you like least?

I liked the story overall, and the humor is good too. BUT - the story was handled quite awkwardly, especially at the end. It was like someone told her she had to stop writing, so she clumsily did just that. I was drawn in by the characters though. The writer does have talent and I look forward to her future work, as she refines her writing skills. I am just getting to know this writer, so I hope she is not doing this just to crank out quantity rather than quality.

Would you ever listen to anything by Stephanie Bond again?

yes

Have you listened to any of Nan McNamara’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

don't remember

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

not at the price of current movies - I would watch it on tv

Very Entertaining

People tend to persevere in the face of adversity. Octavia did it in style and Linda brought some housewife reality to the story. Both learned a lot and I am really looking forward to seeing them continue being there for each other as they find what they are made of. A fun read.

Two Guys Detective Agency

I just loved it, didn't put it down from start to finish. I am looking forward to the next book and the sisters next adventures.

The narrator was great.

I definitely would recommend this book and the audio version so much fun.

Unimpressed

I've enjoyed many books by Stephanie Bond, but this one was a complete disappointment. The main character's husband dies early in the story and she is amazingly able to go on seemingly unfazed by her loss in any meaningful way, putting up with the inane ramblings of her selfish idiot sister. FOREVER is wasted on the events leading up to the funeral and its aftermath (we're talking discs...) before there is even a hint of anything about the operations of the detective agency. There is far too much dialogue involving the main character's children, who are just as flat and one-dimensional as their mother and aunt. Halfway into the series of discs, I found my mind wandering, not even noticing when a track skipped, and then not caring at all. This book was a waste of a perfectly good credit.
