About this listen
This is not a standard-issue audiobook. Here, you will find unconventional stories that will amaze you from head to toe. The content on social media platforms, in video games, and on TV is so repetitive that it makes it uninteresting to watch. Those types of content are not engaging, and are just meant to be trendy and amusing.
The stories selected for this book are out of the ordinary. They have been carefully chosen for curious and extraordinary people eager to break the mold. What you will find in this audiobook will take you out of the ordinary. You’re about to learn things that not many people know. Are you ready to surprise your family and friends with new fascinating stories?
My experience as an entertainment professional has been enriched by traveling around the world, hearing inspiring life stories, and reading lots of books. The latter helped me to learn about the most outlandish issues about nature and history. That’s why I picked stories about different cultures from all ages that portray different ways to see the world. I chose the most amazing inventions that changed our lives and the absurd origins of some of them.
You’ll see that if you want to, you can also become an inventor. You’ll find some motivational stories of athletes that transcended sports to teach us life lessons. You’ll also find scientific facts that will teach you how breathtaking our planet and space are, and how science is a part of everyday stuff.
After listening to this book, you’ll just want to know even more! There’s so much to discover out there, and this book is a great way to begin your exploration journey.
Can it get better? Yes! In the last chapter, you’ll find incredible trivia to learn about the craziest facts that you can play with your family.
I used to say that there’s nothing like a good story. Now, I can say that 56 stories are even better!

What are the bounds of thought? And how do we know if an idea is completely insane, or just a paradigm change? In this audiobook, we explore Insanity, Crazy, Strange, and Disruptive ideas, and just some thoughts and stories. And what are disruptive ideas or ideas which break currently accepted paradigms? My goal is for you, the listener, to expand your minds to think "outside of the box" and not immediately condemn or make fun of new ideas just because they sound weird or wacky. Who knows? These new ideas might actually change the world for the better.

In a time when our political and cultural views feel more polarized than ever, Tyson provides a much-needed antidote to so much of what divides us, while making a passionate case for the twin chariots of enlightenment—a cosmic perspective and the rationality of science. After thinking deeply about how science sees the world and about Earth as a planet, the human brain has the capacity to reset and recalibrates life’s priorities, shaping the actions we might take in response. No outlook on culture, society, or civilization remains untouched.

Avi Loeb, Harvard’s top astronomer, showed it was not an asteroid; it was moving too fast along a strange orbit, and left no trail of gas or debris in its wake. There was only one conceivable explanation: the object was a piece of advanced technology created by a distant alien civilization.

Richard Dawkins, the world’s most famous evolutionary biologist, presents a gorgeously lucid, science book examining some of the nature’s most fundamental questions both from a mythical and scientific perspective. Science is our most precise and powerful tool for making sense of the world. Before we developed the scientific method, we created rich mythologies to explain the unknown. The pressing questions that primitive men and women asked are the same ones we ask as children. Who was the first person? What is the sun? Why is there night and day?

Story
Reporter Sam Kean reveals the periodic table as it’s never been seen before. Not only is it one of man's crowning scientific achievements, it's also a treasure trove of stories of passion, adventure, betrayal, and obsession. The infectious tales and astounding details in The Disappearing Spoon follow carbon, neon, silicon, and gold as they play out their parts in human history, finance, mythology, war, the arts, poison, and the lives of the (frequently) mad scientists who discovered them.

In this fascinating and illuminating work, Leonard Mlodinow guides us through the critical eras and events in the development of science, all of which, he demonstrates, were propelled forward by humankind's collective struggle to know. From the birth of reasoning and culture to the formation of the studies of physics, chemistry, biology, and modern-day quantum physics, we come to see that much of our progress can be attributed to simple questions - why? how? - bravely asked.

Story
For at least 20,000 years, we have led not just an earthly existence, but a cosmic one. Celestial cycles drove every aspect of our daily lives. Our innate relationship with the stars shaped who we are - our art, religious beliefs, social status, scientific advances, and even our biology. But over the last few centuries we have separated ourselves from the universe that surrounds us. It's a disconnect with a dire cost.

Nine remarkable men produced inventions that changed the world. The printing press, the telephone, powered flight, recording and others have made the modern world what it is. But who were the men who had these ideas and made reality of them? As David Angus shows, they were very different - quiet, boisterous, confident, withdrawn - but all had a moment of vision allied to single-minded determination to battle through numerous prototypes and produced something that really worked. This is a fascinating account for younger listeners.

Intriguing & Fascinating
The stories in this audiobook are not basic or simple. They are captivating and enlightening. There is so much to share for the whole family on the self-discovery of history, science, and worldwide practices. I like that the stories are centered around interactive games, activities, trivia, and wholesome fun for everyone. In the process, you also learn a lot. I now can tell a better story and the whole family can take a break from social media for more substance learning.

Kept my kids entertained for hours!
I got this book for my kids, and it turned out to be a hit! The stories are fun, engaging, and definitely sparked their curiosity. I loved how it got them off their screens and into something that also sparked great dinner conversations. We even took turns reading some of the stories together, which made it a fun family activity. Highly recommend it for curious minds—kids and adults alike!
