About this listen

A man in prison for murder. One woman wants him freed. One woman wants him dead.

Mick McFarland is stunned when he's arrested for murdering business tycoon Edwin Hanson, brother to David Hanson - one of Mick's former clients. Mick is even more shocked when he's confronted with the incriminating evidence: surveillance footage of him stalking the victim and pulling the trigger.

As Mick's legal team fights against windmills trying to beat the prosecution in court, his wife, Piper, journeys across the country, trying to win her husband's freedom by going after the man she is convinced is out to destroy Mick and David both. What she doesn't anticipate is that David's wife, Marcie, is on a similar mission to shelter her own husband. And the two women may not be on the same side.

Piper has it all right...and all wrong. And her time is running out. Will she be able to save her husband from conviction and clear his name?

Brilliant Legal Thriller.

Philadelphia Legal Series sees attorney Mick McFarland is accused and arrested for murder, a seemingly open and shut case that will likely end with capital punishment. With his fourth book about defense attorney Mick McFarland, Myers slowly introduced us in depth to the characters surrounding Mick along with their back stories. Masterful storytelling and a crime straight out of a XF movie, I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

I thought the book was fast paced and had enough action to keep me interest.

Very good

Nice twisty crime story. Nothing new but well done. Some Characters not very well developed but adequate. Technology will get old quickly.

Eh..

Very "law and order" scripty (?). It was like an episode of a tv show stretched out and out. Just an ok book.. Not You Will baby, you're golden :)

Great Writing

A lot of times I get uncomfortable with stories that have someone wrongly accused. The writing was so good on this, that I was optimistic particularly when the accused's wife went into some pretty far-fetched theories. The ideas posited on how the wrongly accused person could be wrongly accused seem a little farfetched but the writing was so good that I suspended disbelief. Stick around for the epilogue. It's well worth it.

Read previous novel first

My first novel from this author. Good book but it feel like it would have been better if I had read the novels leading up to this one.

Didn't want it to end...

Well written, well performed, so much so that one feels as if they knew all the characters, all the places, and were able to witness first hand for themselves all that occurred.

Perfect

Get Ready

If you are concerned about how AI can run amuck in the most extraordinary ways, including putting the wrong man in prison, this is for you. It is a reality check on the abuses possible with technology, but then again, you already know about that.
