Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics. But Epics are no friend of man. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them. And David wants in. He wants Steelheart - the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David's father.

Unique Plot !
I really enjoyed this one! The story itself is very cleverly written and I liked the growth of the main character. He goes from being a dragon into a human, and it felt really believable as he progressed. He has to learn basically how to live all over again. He can’t let anyone know who he actually is, since he’s being hunted. Without saying too much, he meets some friends along the way who form a bond, and it’s hard not to get attached to them. The narration in this is very good too and I liked how each character in the story had their own voice. Some stories fall dull, but this one kept me gripped and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Looking forward to the next.

Fantastic Fiction
This is a must read for anybody that likes fiction books/novels.
(Spoiler Free) The plot is creative and cleverly done with very little to no slow moments.
The characters are engaging and the relationship between certain characters is great! I loved the smart wit and back and forth between certain characters.
The attention to detail as far as describing the environments was great.
Certain characters actually made you feel angry towards them at times. This is the sign of a greatly written character.
Definitely want to see more from this series as it has the potential to be the next big thing. Can't wait to read the next iteration.

Absolutely fantastic story
Where does A Dragon's Awakening rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
this is a young adult genre so i cant exactly compare it with my other books but it was a story that made me not want to wait to listen to the entire series.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kale. the twist on this character was one i have never seen before and i read a ton of fantasy books. i loved every bit of it.
Which scene was your favorite?
the scene where kale is first understanding what the change really entails. it made me laugh a few times.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
no idea what you mean by tag line.
Any additional comments?
this was a fantastic listen with an even better story. the characters are very well built and it never really feels like its slowing down. my only real complaint is the lackluster combat scenes. I have come to expect larger and more detailed scenes in this department and i feel as though they could have been better. they weren't bad but they weren't the best i have ever read.

This is a must listen for dragon lovers
I devoured through this audiobook in just a couple of days. It was really good! My Kindle is packed with dragon novels, I’ve read all kinds and many different plots. This one was refreshingly unique with the main concept. Most books I’ve read that involve dragons have them used as familiars or pets to humans, or rivals. In my opinion this book falls appropriately into the young adult category as it would be enjoyable for teens, but equally so for adults. The language is mild, but it does have some gore (as you may expect during battle “scenes” in a fantasy).
The narration was equally delivered well. The British speaking narrator gives a solid medieval-like feel and puts a lot of emotion into the words (as if I was watching the movie play out). I think fitting the voice to the genre is really important.
5 stars across the board!

Needs work
It was written like a news report, and voice actor needs more practice with different voices and characterizations of these characters. The writer lacks the research and fails to provide rules within the world. Instead, relying on something similar to making up something to beat the opponent in a game of rock paper and scissors

Couldn't listen very long. The performance, awful.
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Anyone who doesn't speak in a normal way.
What could Aya Knight have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Hire a better narrator.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jonathan Johns?
Anyone.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from A Dragon's Awakening?
I don't know.
Any additional comments?
I would have liked to give it a chance but couldn't.
