Publisher's summary

Murder. Treason. Time travel.

Army veteran Reuben Greyson must hunt down his father’s killer through the vast spacetime maze of the Chronos Project.

Chronos is more than a time machine. The past cannot be altered, and the future is seemingly fixed. And yet, the dreamlike groanings of the machine and the players competing over its power appear to say otherwise.

Caught in a vortex of hidden agendas, prophetic dreams, and tantalizing artifacts, Reuben and his team of time travelers unlock clues that lead to the gut-wrenching truth at the heart of the cryptic project.

Equations and gadgetry may bind the pillars of the beastly Chronos, but human dilemmas will test all those who pass through its arches.

Abandon hope all ye who pursue the keys of time.

Good Book Overall

Really like the book overall, the only issue I had was from the MC discovery of the facility to running a team feels a bit rushed. Otherwise great listen

A Dream of Stewards

The story was very interesting and (as far as I can tell) well written, but I had a lot of trouble becoming engaged with the plot. This book presents an interesting view of time travel that I hope is explained/explored further in the rest of the series. I also appreciated the very practical approach that was used to prepare teams to travel to the past (such as weapons and communication training specific to the jump location) which is often glossed over in other stories.

A poignant and profound journey through time

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is and honest review. Poignantly narrated by Joshua Nicholson brings the brilliantly written journey that begins with this book. Reuben Greyson's life forever changed when his father's career consumed their relationship and will eventually cost his life but for Reuben, his life and own future are altered drastically from the day he speaks to a mysterious man at his father's funeral. Nearly murdered by a ruthless man hellbent on revenge, rescued by AIC operatives; Reuben finds himself fallen down a rabbit hole as he struggles to come to terms what his father truly involved in. Reuben and this new friends and fellow travels race through the past of the Lost Colony of Roanoke to the battlefield of the city of Caltanissetta in Sicily during WWII; all in hope of piecing together the puzzle to bring their enemy, Adam Drazen, justice... no matter the cost upon the group. Adam Drazen has his own agenda, his own ideals to fulfill against the AIC, against the Stewards; and he won't be denied... not even if he must kill in the process of seeking the destination. Completely immersive and deeply profound, A Dream if Stewards wil capture your attention through its memorable journey. Highly recommended.

Action-Packed and Thought-Provoking

This book captures the imagination of its listeners as it sets the stage for time travel and the dos and don’ts. Reuben Greyson and his friends must figure out who is messing around in the past, trying to kill them, and who killed Greyson’s father. A pivotal player in this story is Greyson’s father and it is through clues and more that the real culprit is discovered.
This is a riveting book in murder and treason with some unique twists such as time travel and prophetic dreaming. The author, Yohann Martin delivers a thought-provoking unique storyline and characters that are rich in talent, intelligence, and skills. The mystery as to who is good and who is not was well done.

The narrator delivers a strong performance not only capturing but communicating the emotion and personality of each character in rich unique voices. Joshua Nicholson speaks clearly, smoothly, and flawlessly. He was a pleasure to hear.
Overall, I highly recommend this book as it was entertaining, enthralling, and action-packed.

There were no issues with the production or quality of this audio presentation.

Loved It!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! As an avid fan of science-fiction, particularly time travel, I found its unique variation of the genre truly captivating. The numerous rules governing time travel added an intriguing layer of complexity to the story. Moreover, the author skillfully developed the characters and crafted a compelling storyline in the first book. Needless to say, I am eagerly anticipating the release of the second book to continue this enthralling journey!

Good idea, poor execution

I enjoy a good time travel story and this one is similar in concept at least to some really good ones from Jody Taylor. But this story was disjointed at best. A lot of jumping around in the story with no context to follow along with. Much of the story is setup for context so I assume that there will be more to the series. Not sure if I will be listening to more of these.
Narration was decent but not the best I have heard.

Dreadful

I tried several times to listen to the story. It seemed to have everything I liked. But I just could not get into it. The action and adventure was good but the story just didn’t draw me in. In a word “ lackluster”
