I enjoyed this book, it shows the journey to healing that Andi took. Anything narrated by Xe Sands is always a delight to listen to.

I liked that this story has a little bit of everything: drama, suspense, romance, mystery, ambivalence about a crime that had no rhyme or reason, and the development of insight about how trauma can be healed. Xe Sands is one of my favorite narrators, and again she was outstanding!

Intriguing story, happy ending

It was a pleasant listen for the most part. The main character likable and mostly relatable.
The author could have done more research on police K9s. You don't just find a dog and a year later it's serving with a police department. Actually, I would have enjoyed the book more if the author had included what the training was like and how the dog handler - police dog relationship developed over time.
The investigation felt realistic, although I'm not familiar with that process.
I was a little disappointed when it started veering toward love story, as if the author didn't feel it was a strong enough story to stand alone (it could have been.)
I'm a dog lover but the dog wasn't my favorite part--bit too anthropomorphic, although bearable. My favorite parts were Andi's sessions with her therapist. Really rang true. An excellent therapist. I even learned something things about myself.

I’ve listened to many book in which XE Sands narrates. And I like her, BUT…she speaks so quietly I can barely hear her. I don’t have any hearing problems. But even with my earphones, phone, or from whatever device I’m listening, even on FULL volume, it is a big struggle to hear the book.

I listened to this because Xe did the performance. As always, Xe was fabulous but unfortunately the story is a bit two dimensional and sounds like a fictional remake of a Psychologically Today article .
