A Highland Ghost for Christmas

A very good book that I enjoyed listening to it is a story that had me crying by the end, but it turned out very good, the narrator was one voice I liked listening to.

A Highland Ghost for Christmas

I enjoyed listening to this short sweet novella. The humor interjected throughout was perfect... I actually chuckled out loud a few times. There was also a perfect happily ever after.

I look forward to more stories by Jo-Ann Carson as well as the narrators, Lisa Reichert and Darren Pollock.

Cute Christmas Romance

After a psychic reading in a tea house promising her not just one man in her life, but two, broken-hearted librarian Maddy meets Cullen Macfie, a Scottish Highlander. The only problem is Cullen is dead. For over 300 years, Cullen has been a ghost who spends his eternity being mischievous and playing poker with other ghosts. Cullen spots Maddy in the teahouse and is smitten so he makes a deal with his angelic counselor to allow him to try to mend Maddy’s heart.

This was a cute story and I loved the chemistry between Maddy and Cullen. Their interactions ranging from Christmas tree decorating and baking were a hilarious endeavor and thoroughly enjoyable. I also liked the second man, Hank, making an appearance in Maddy’s life. I’m not a fan of love triangles at all, but this story appealed because you can’t help but like Cullen and his determination to show her that love finds a way.

My Final Verdict: I recommend this book to anyone looking for some fun and stress relief during the busy Christmas season. This is the first book in a series that has me curious about what’s next.

One of my favourite books! Very enjoyable.

I have read and listened to this book over and over. And it never fails to amuse me. I really like the humour and if you think about it, what better gift for a woman that has just had her heart broken. An overbearing, overprotective, gentlemanly Scottish ghost. I really enjoyed the whole concept of the story and the narration was perfect. It made the old story come to life.

All Ghosts should be this lovable!

Maddy was suffering from a broken heart. She found the man she was to marry making out with another woman. Her best friend gives her an odd Christmas gift. It was a reading by an eccentric old woman at a creaky tea house. Mandy’s not crazy about the gift , but goes along with it, and is immediately haunted by the handsome, 300 year old Highland ghost Cullen Macfie.
But he’s not just any old ghost . He’s a tall well built redhead in a kilt! Cullen’s problem is he can’t move on until he earns his way.
Maddy can’t see him, because he a ghost, so he shows himself by moving things around, and communicates with by writing to her. The more time they spend together, they begin to fall in love. Maddy desperately wants to see Cullen but he can only be seen for a certain amount of time in the very early hours of the morning. Once she sees him she’s hooked! I loved this book. It made me laugh, it made me sigh, it made me fall in love with Cullen and Maddy. What will happen to Cullen and Maddy. Will there be a happy ending for them? You must treat yourself to this book! I’m certain you will love it too.

Lighthearted and charming

There's a delightfully cheeky ghost whose antics made me laugh out loud and wish I had him around when I needed him. This story s a short, sweet escape from the worries of the world. An added bonus at the end: a traditional Scottish recipe and the little-known secret to its success. You're in good hands when you read a book by Jo-Ann Carson!

In spite of the cover showing a gorgeous guy, there are no overt sexual scenes here: just good old-fashioned kissing. Just the way I like it!

The main reader, Lisa Riechert, seems to have done mostly non-fiction before this and I wondered if she could step up to the challenge of reading fictional material. Her voice has a lovely tone and I feel she shows great promise for reading fiction. Darren Pollock, reads the ghost character with a delightful Scottish burr.

Ghostly love.

This was a cute, rather clean story. With the way this book went, I am curious about how the others in the series will go. Ghost falls in love with woman. Woman falls in love with ghost. Woman forsakes human man in favor of ghost she can never actually be with. Ghost loves her enough to step back and propel her and the human man toward each other. Woman and human man find their HEA (as is evidenced by the epilogue) and ghost moves on to heaven. Will the whole series be of this nature? Overall, this was an enjoyable read and I'm curious how the other books in the series will play out. I don't feel strongly driven to continue the series, but I wouldn't be opposed to it either, particularly with them being such quick reads.

A Highland Ghost for Christmas

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun, lighthearted and yet touching story.
It flowed nicely and the narration made the story come alive. Even though I've already read the book and knew I loved it, I was excited to listen to the audible version too. Very well done and enjoyable listening to . Read with the perfect speed and their voices held my attention. (oh...gotta love that accent too!)

Maddy is trying to heal a broken heart and her friend decides to give her a psychic reading as a Christmas gift. That’s when everything changes. Cullen is a gambling, bad boy Highland ghost, and when he notices Maddy, he really wants to get to meet her. His counselor angel , Cee Cee, makes a deal with him and gives him a chance to redeem himself because she thinks Maddy and Cullen will be able to help each other. That’s when all the fun begins.

Several laugh out loud moments and some very touching moments also. Jo-Ann Carson really made this a fun and interesting story and I was happy to be able to listen to the audio version now too.
