A fun holiday listen!

--I was given this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This was a happy, short listen. Claire has made a bet with her co-workers that she can get her boss, Sarah fixed up on a date and a kiss with her brother, Jeremy. After a few crazy schemes with her car, Jeremy and Sarah are dating. Sarah at the same time is now getting to know her 8 year old twin nieces and is beginning to see there is more to life than work. Over the next couple of weeks, the bet goes on, changes a little and things progress. Christmas Eve is a nice touch at the end.

The only thing that was a little distracting was the narrator. I applaud Giselle Lumas for narrating her own book, but the flow is not automatic, and her voices are not as apparent between characters. I think if it had been done by a narrating actor, the book would have been an easier listen.

Very Cute

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I think the narrator's voice was a bit distracting. There were also moments when I wasn't sure if the audio was replaying and needs to be edited, or if the writing was a bit redundant. I think this audiobook is a little rough around the edges, and with a little cleaning up would be amazing.

Any additional comments?

Ok easy book to follow.

Any additional comments?

"This audiobook was provided by the author at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review. This book was fun and easy to listen to with one exception...I wasn't impressed with the narration most of all, I liked the story line and continued to listen because I wanted to know how the book ended. I wasn't impressed with the narration, it was unprofessional and almost pushed me away from all books by this author.

Maybe a Safer Bet to Hire a Narrator

"A Holiday Bet" was a cute story and with it being under three hours long, I think it was edited just fine but the narration was almost too distracting. To give an honest review I have to say that perhaps it would be a good idea to go with a narrator. They usually have their own audio equipment.

I applaud the author Giselle Lumas for her work. She wrote this story, it's clearly edited, it just needed a narrator. This is a great start though.

This is a cute novel of romance, trickery, and good humor. I enjoyed it very much.

I Loved Other Book By Lumas But This One Missed

Read the publisher summary listed below. It is such a short book that I don't feel I can add to it without spoiling. It is cute and rather predictable.

More of my thoughts below publishers summary...

I admire Gisele Lumas writing and narration, however perhaps she should consider bringing in someone new to narrate as many of the characters sounded the same to me.

Reviews are important. I read the reviews of others before I purchase a book. If you found my review helpful in your decision about this book, would you please select yes directly below this paragraph? Thank you so much.

Please consider "following me" here on Audible.com. I purchased a lot of books by authors that I am faithful to. I also have the opportunity to review books in all genres, many that I would not pick up on my own. I have been pleasantly surprised by new authors and narrators. Thanks!

Short and Sweet

The FMC makes a bet to with coworkers to set up her boss. She plots to set up her boss with her brother. The two actually hit it off on their own with a little clumsy nudge. The rest is romance HEA. This novella length book was shoshort but still able to pain the characters with alot of depth.
